Anyone else get depressed after Christmas is over?

Dude

Dude that’s rough, very sorry to hear that
All good. He is 95 and had an amazing life. We tried our best to let him transistion at home, but couldn’t handle his further slide into dementia. And his quality of care was going down as well. So much stuff we missed when the nursing staff started evaluating his state.

The timing just sucks is all.

I'm only bummed because I'm at work and I know I'm the coming week I have to clean up and put all the Christmas decor away.

I suspect I have mild seasonal depression. I usually get down in the dumps every December, especially in the week or so before and post-Xmas. It's not delibitating or anything, but noticeable. This year's been fine so far more or less though, and I'm off on holiday in a few days to the tropics for NYE and beyond so my spirits are higher than usual. Xmas has been cool though.

I know some people with depression that get depressed more due to winter. Less sunlight, its cold and people are generally inside. I like the winter and i like how empty the streets are when it starts to get dark. Sometimes walk for hours enjoying it. I dont get depressed when the holidays are over but i do have regret eating wayy too much.

Nah, i feel depressed looking at my bank account afterwards, haha.

Seriously though, this was the 2nd Christmas without my mom and oldest sister. So, I don't really don't go home anymore. My wife, kids, and myself just keep to ourselves on Christmas Day.

Depressed? Quite the opposite for me anyway

I know measurement of time on the calendar is an arbitrary thing, but I focus on seasons and for me the Christmas time passing means spring time Is that much closer.

Naw, fuck that! I'm glad when that abomination of a holiday is over. Consumerism wrapped in religion. You can count me out, man. You can count me out.

The 12 days of Christmas is a real thing, continue the party and let it wind down as you get to the 12th day.
