I don't add any sauce, or if I do it will be very minimal. Some restaurants make it cooked in with the sauce but I go to ones that that don't do thatAre you counting the sauce? The sauce usually has a lot of starch and sugar.
I guess there is nothing wrong if you can avoid using a lot of the sauce. It's just MSG salt and the broccoli is steamed. The meat is treated with baking soda and a little bit of cornstarch/soy-sauce. It makes tough cuts like eye round really soft. If you like that taste then you can probably make it at home in big batches. The taste might be slightly different because they use a really powerful high heat wok when cooking.I don't add any sauce, or if I do it will be very minimal. Mediterranean places if you go to a buffet place and pick exactly what you want but most regular restaurants won't offer you a plate with the healthiest options. It's also so pricey that's it is not really practical for the average person to eat at regularly. Same with Indian food, but their choices are even less healthy. The only thing healthy in the typical Indian restaurant menu is a saladI typically don't feel good eating at those places. "Healthy" food isn't just about macronutrient content. They tend to cheap out on a lot of the ingredients and cooking processes and then add stuff so people don't notice. But maybe you found somewhere decent.
Imo Mediterranean and Indian food tends to be healthiest take out... Unless you specifically search out organic/all natural places, which cost more. In reality you're not actually paying extra though, you were just paying less at the expense of your health and someone getting rich off that
If you enjoy the food, eating it once in awhile isn't going to kill you, regardless. But you asked about health.
I have to agree. Indian food isn't really healthy. It is delicious but I wouldn't say it is healthy. At least restaurant food isn't. Indian buffets are alright but most people aren't going to pick the healthy stuff. There is so much delicious junk food. It's hard just to eat the Tandori chicken with some salad. Some of the other food choices are really calorie dense. Maybe if you make it at home then you can limit the ghee and cream.Mediterranean places if you go to a buffet place and pick exactly what you want but most regular restaurants won't offer you a plate with the healthiest options. Completely agree with you on the Indian food. Mediterranean food I really like as it is also very tasty and they even have some pretty healthy dishes, with the vegetables and grilled meat and stuff but it's just too expensiveI have to agree. Most Chinese takeout places around my area has a "healthy" version of some of their dishes. It's not optimal but it will do in a crunch.
Japanese and Korean is way too expensive to eat regularly for the average person. Thai food is a little cheaper but still pricier than Chinese food as well, and you're not going to find anything on a Thai menu that is healthier than a basic dish of meat and broccoli with white steamed rice or mixed vegetables. A lot of Thai restaurants will actually serve this exact same dish in their menus under the diet options but it will be at a higher price.Chinese food is quite unhealthy for the most part, they add a lot of sugar and bad oils to their dishes. It's also very carb heavy with noodles, rice, etc. Also the meat and vegetables don't tend to be very high quality..
If you want to eat healthy Asian food you better off eating Japanese, Korean and Thai food.
Many of the soups are healthy. Even mole is not too bad for you. Spanish rice and charro beans are pretty good too. Eating a taco with a corn tortilla and some type of grilled meat and cilantro, avocado, onions, peppers and other vegetables is pretty healthy as well but most people eat tacos with a flour tortilla, and add little to no veggies but will add cheeseMexican food is pretty healthy
the only reason people think it isn't because the don't include the jumbo margarita in their macros..

Well yeah that tells you exactly why Chinese food isn't quality food.
If you're looking to eat clean while saving money then cook yourself, that's the best to keep track of what is actually going into your dish and you'll save money.
