I noticed he got hella tired in there. Was it the stress of the madness that went on during fight week, or is he slowing down quite a bit?

the 205 cut is brutal for him... wish he could eat better and drop those fried chicken.

He was sad

When he got the Jon Jones news he was probably like

"FUCK I NEED CHICKEN"

Then ate all of popeyes, I mean they probably had to kick him out

Next day he's on his couch just a mess with a chicken OD hangover and gets the call

"So Silva will fight you"

DC: FUCK

This may be a false take, but i feel like DC always fights at the level of his opponent. From dominating Bigfoot and Barnett when no one believed he could, to then have uneventful fights and struggling a little bit with Nelson and Mir, when everyone thought he would maul right through them.. Apart from the slam, he took it VERY easy on Hendo before he decided to choke him out.

Had a competitive loss to the best version of Jon Jones ever, dominated Rumble, then had a frickin war with Gus for 25 minutes. 3 really dangerous guys.

And then looks like shit in a lesser opponent in Silva.

I think it's interesting. DC looks at this like straight up COMPETITION.

both, he should go back to hw. nothing left for him a lhw until jones comes back if ever

I think the stress about Jones, replacement and the like was too much for him.
If he would face Jones like supposed I think he would look better.

yeah it's not a good look.

He did not seem like somebody ready to beat Jon Jones on that night.

Excellent point, I've always thought the same about Uriah Hall as well

Anderson was making him work more than he wanted, for very little success and he was being boo'd. He never got to properly pace himself, and in turned looked worse and became more predictable to defend.

He was on an emotional roller coaster. Took it's toll on him.

Yeah! that week was probably stressful as shit for him. Not to mention that Anderson kick probably knock the wind out of him

I agree and thought I heard him or someone close say the news and stress absolutely affected him since he was cutting at the time. But still 30-26. Aside from a devastating first round KO, DC was going to get criticism. It's really just an opportunity to turn some disappointment in a fallen hero over to someone else.

I dont really have a problem with his game plan for the fight, it's clear he shouldn't be standing with a guy like Silva. But for the size advantage he had, and for being in a camp when Silva was there on 2 days notice...he looked like shit as far as his conditioning goes. He was talking shit about how "the new Jon Jones" looked against OSP - and that's what he brought to the table? That would have been a horrible night for DC had Jones stepped in the cage.

no.

he won thats all that matters. when he faced off with anderson he looked deflated and uninterested, and he still won

War DC. a champion you can trust.

weight cut was messed up, had a hard time with it. but he could have done another 2 rounds easily and kept putting a beatdown on Silva

So many excuses for DC - the first time "I didn't have Cain to help me train"..this time " The new opponent took away my stamina" "I almost missed weight because of the roller coaster of getting a new opponent" 'I was star struck"
