These asswads in NY put up some new traffic lights and one is a RED arrow left turn.. I have on occasion made a left during a yellow..which maybe went red as I was in the middle of the turn... So I get a ticket in the mail for it.. It's bullshit. I'm turning left on a green light...No risk to anyone's lives. I think I'm going to use license plate covers or paint to fuck the camera.. Commie bastards.

Oh.. AND they send me the ticket.. NO picture with it.

I have a CDL so I keep an attorney in my back pocket for traffic issues. I would look into trial by declaration stuff or even a traffic attorney. The trial by declaration is actually a fairly cheap and effective way to beat the ticket but I'm not sure if that is available in New York or even what the traffic laws are like over there.

Edit just read that trial by declaration is not available in New York sucks..

Here's a link with New York traffic attorneys though:

File a police report stating that your vehicle was stolen. After three days call the police and tell them you found it(they won't find it). The evidence should be sufficient enough to waive that ticket.

yeah but how does he travel back in time? i'm assuming a few days maybe a weeks have passed since violation and ticket

first it was a yellow light, then you are turning on green. you can't even keep your story straight for a couple of sentences. i hope they take your license and run over your legs with a steamroller so you can't terrorize innocent people on the road anymore

If he doesn't know how to travel back in time he should have thought about that before going out and running red lights.

There is a Normal Green light for through traffic and a left arrow if you're turning left. Dumb fucking setup.

Is it an intersection where you can't turn left at certain times of day so it has a red arrow or did it have green, yellow and red arrows and you turned while the arrow was red?

Those cameras setups usually have pictures or video of the car, light and driver on time stamps. Difficult to beat it.

Yes I have, using the common knowledge provided by www.highwayrobbery.net

The resources on that site are only applicable to Californian laws though, so it wouldn't be much use to you.

PS: Everyone should have a dashcam installed in their car nowaday. They're cheap and provide indispensable evidence in situations when it's "your words against them". Hell, you can even use an old smartphone with a decent camera to do the job.

Not gonna help if you're confused by colors like TS though.

Not a red light camera ticket, but I beat a distracted driving ticket. Officer Dingleberry didn't show up, and I like to think it's because he knew he was being an over zealous douche. I was flinging my work ID around on its extendable string in traffic, my cell phone was on the seat.

Here in Colorado you can beat them by simply not paying. The ticket will eventually go away. Not sure exactly how it works but I think it's because they can't prove you received the ticket in the mail, unless they go to the trouble of "serving" you the ticket in person.

They've had those here for at least 30 years. Recently they have the left turn arrows flashing yellow when the regular light is green.

If it is a recent addition, you could try to explain to the judge that you moved through the intersection like you always have.

that's more or less true.

I'm on my phone but you should seek out copblock.org for the write up on these camera tickets. Is all about putting off the ticket, getting a continuance. Seek ot out. No one should pay tickets.

Works for Jury Duty too.

I don't pay them where I'm from. Nobody's going to sue me over a few $25 tickets.

Edit: these are issued by a private company where I'm at

$25 for a red light ticket? They're like over $400 here.
Yes, $25 for speeding and red lights and one or two other things. I've only heard of people with $1000+ in tickets getting letters warning about law suits. Most people will pay them if they get them though.
