Speculation is rampant yet again.
I called the speculation last night, and I'm calling this is bullshit too.
Speculation is rampant yet again.
Why would he know? He's McGregor's trainer, not his fucking handler.
The issue for me right now is:
1- Conor and his camp seem really inconsistent and/or out of touch with reality.
2- Dana White is a lying motherfucker - All the time.
I'm left not believing anything that either party says until the actual UFC 200 event is on air.
oh so you are able to comprehend this move. going on the mma hour to give your pov and turn the audience against your opposition? It's all a PR move and a weak power play to get the UFC to negotiate by getting his followers on Twitter to harass Dana and Lorenzo
That's assuming everything that Kavanagh said was the truth. I don't think he was telling the truth or all of it to Ariel. I find it hard to believe those two guys whose destinies are intertwined with each other, didn't plan this thing out or at the very least tell each other what's going on.

cough cough faber
anyways back to topic. why do people get so wrapped up in these pissy details when the basic story isnt some mystery
-conor wants to fight on ufc 200. didnt want to do a mini tour 3 months out
-ufc insists on media tour or fight is pulled
both sides are telling us the same fucking story
it really is that simple. you either think the biggest fight in the history of the sport should be cancelled because conor didnt meet those demands or you think that the ufc is being too demanding
its just a sliding scale of where you place the blame. they havent or wont come to a compromise
imo people need to forget the biased pov and pissy details, and focus on the facts
-biggest fight in the history of the sport
-mini press tour 3 months out
- this debacle has created even more hype than the mini press tour
-theres still room to do press
-nate wants this fight
-conor wants this fight
-the media wants this fight
-the fans want this fight
relax with this zomg gossipy bs imo. all of this pissy bs is some weird and pathetic attempt in to turning this in to a zomg conor is a piece of shit for reason xyz excuse
the ufc and dan get unheard of amounts of shit on sherdog, yet when they refuse to compromise and let the biggest fight in the sports history happen due to a mini press tour 3 months out, all of the sudden the sherdog masses have the ufc's back and conor is a shitbag. its really weird and pathetic to see. all of the sudden theres an army of diaz fans that are massively in favor of press conferences lol. all of the sudden theres an army of aldo fans that are huge press conference fans. its just so absurd. aldos fans can justify confiscating and deporting a piss collector but they cant accept an adjustment to press conferences. weird how flexible and creative the mind is in some cases but in others, not so much

i know two of you did lolDid you think anyone is going to read that mountain of feces?
this setting the tone thing is just so over blown. for who?I think you make a good point, that the fight is salvageable and the money can still be made. But in business you can cross someone to where they need you to learn consequences, just like in parenting. Both are in service to the fact that we teach ppl how to treat us by what we accept from them. I can see the UFC being willing to lose this money on one fight to protect numerous other investments they'd have to worry about if they appear weak here and other champs are encouraged.
So that's the only other factor to add to the above list that I can think of. That the UFC might be far less concerned about revenue on this one particular card than they are on potential revenue lost if they appear weak or willing to capitulate.
As a fan, if they do capitulate (which I can't imagine) and other fighters are emboldened, I guess that's actutally a good thing. Not likely. A long shot. A bad bet on Conor's part. But wouldn't be bad for fighters if it happened.
But it won't happen. Good try Conor. But if you have to stand up for something, maybe don't choose this as the point of contention. It's a press conference and you're expected to be there. There are lots of better things to stand up for that the UFC does to fighters.
i know two of you did lol

ronda and conor are completely in a league of their own. their twitter and mainstream media attention is far more powerful than a press conference 3 months out. it just is. if the discussion is about press and promotion, then yes, these two should play by different rules because its a completely different ball game. its not really setting a standard for other fighters. the other fighters can be pulled at zero cost to the company. this fight being pulled will absolutely cost the company money (at 200)
what i find interesting that i dont see any discussion about is how and when are these press tours scheduled? when did they let conor know about this? think about it. the ufc offers you an opponent and then a date. later they just tell you theyve scheduled you press obligations and then if you dont comply the fight is off. thats are really poor situation for anyone whos looking out for the fighters. sign up to fight, then we tell you your obligations and if you dont like it, youre pulled. its fucked up
now if they told conor the exact dates or rough schedule outline when they made the bout official, thats a different story. i havent really seen it addressed though
Conor has embraced the wwe attitude some times agoUnless the UFC and Conor are in on this together to boost ratings, Conor done fucked up if he acted on his own. I'm not far from feeling like they could actually have scripted this whole thing though and are working together (Conor/UFC). Wouldn't that be a mind blower

He knows it mass market good so he may have convinced Dana to do this stint
it looks like ego is a huge part of both sides here and both sides are going to pay a financial price (at ufc 200)I actually agree with this for the most part. However Mcgregor should have worked this out in advance and tried to negotiate something with the UFC brass. Him trying to big time the UFC and trying to be the shot caller backfired in his face:
it looks like ego is a huge part of both sides here and both sides are going to pay a financial price (at ufc 200)
people love to say conor won or lost or that the ufc won or lost in this situation. conor vs diaz 1 was the single biggest fight in ufc history. only a stacked ufc card beat it. the rematch will be the new biggest fight in ufc history. both sides are losing a fortune at ufc 200. there are no winners here. the fans arent winning either
imo the biggest reason the ufc is deciding they can take conor off the card is because they own him in their contract. he cant go anywhere. the ufc knows they own his ass and that they can make the same fight happen at a different date
have I said one word defending Conor in this thread? if so, show me
"I'm not surprised motherfuckers"oh look, Hardkore pulling bullshit theories out of his ass again
I am shocked, shocked I tells ya
