I’ve been training and owning dogs since I could walk and it’s one of the few I’ve never owned. Tell me your opinions on the breed

I've had three friends that owned a shiba inu.

2/3 were extremely loyal to their families, standoffish or aggressive to others, and HYPER AS FUCK. They were constantly taking those little, mean fuckers on walks and training them, otherwise they were a nightmare.

The last one, Ed, was the most chill fuck in the world, and his eyes were suuuuuper squinty. The running joke was that they were constantly just giving it edibles.

All responses should be written in this format -

- Very Hyper.
- Much Yellow.
- So Loyal.

Wow.

My grandpa had a couple. Pretty quirky little dogs. Much funny.

If it's a similar breed to the Shiba I'd say go for it.

Interesting, from the wikipedia node they sound more like cats than dogs in temperament:

Shibas tend to exhibit an independent nature[7] and sometimes show aggression. This is more prevalent between female Shibas and is influenced by the breed's strong prey drive. The Shiba Inu is best in a home without other small dogs or young children, but consistent obedience training and early socialization can make all the difference. The breed also interacts fairly well with cats.

the virgin shiba vs the chad akita.
get the full size version, shibas are for girls.

I went to a dog shelter last year and saw one there. I took it out for a walk and in a five-minute span it pissed 47 times. I decided not to get it.

my gf has one. shiba's are known for their almost cat like demeanor. her's can be very friendly and goofy acting but also independent and stand off ish

Theyre assholes. Good friend of mine has one and its very territorial. Not sure what the fuckers problem is, hes got a great life and lots of room to roam. I will say hes auite good with their other dog which is a yorkie.

You can train them to talk, and do every trick imaginable. I plan on getting one. Seems fun to spend the time training it to do all those tricks, and use the dog to pick up women.
