Dana gets crucified for throwing out a journalist yet I haven't seen a single post aimed at Coker, you know for damn sure if Kimbo vs. Dada was a co-main for the UFC and they both ended up dying all the members here would be calling for Danas head, when are people going to start accepting that Coker is a scumbag in his own right? Keeps booking Kimbo in fights after failing drug tests and whatnot.

Dada died of heart failure after his fight only to be resuscitated now Kimbo dies of Cardiac issues, but it's just a coincidence obviously because Dana wasn't the promoter.

Nobody really cares about Bellator here in the Heavies.

But kudos to you for pointing it out. I actually never thought about it.

These things happen in MMA

Stop utilizing Kimbo's death for your agenda.

How do you know kimbos heart problem was related to fighting?

You realize he fought in the ufc too right?

Nobody could have predicted what was going to happen. Dada says he was poisoned btw, it woll be interesting to hear more about that.

As far as letting fighters fight after testing positive.. Boo hoo.. The ufc does it all the time.

If it makes money it makes sense, people on sherdog just dont have a clue about how business works, thst much is obvious with the ariel situation.

Ill reserve judgement until all the info comes out

What agenda? There's no agenda in pointing out a double standard, it's people like you who would use this for an agenda if this happened in the UFC.

Not when he was 42 and testing positive for banned substances, as soon as they realized it wasn't going to work because he wasn't good enough they let him go. The "he fought in the UFC too" argument is redundant.

This is the UFC subforum.

Bellator and other little league pish goes in that other forum.

People shit on the UFC for bringing in CM Punk all the time.

Not saying Bellator is some moral bastion...but isn't that slightly more of a commission issue? To Coker's credit he did publicly state that Dada would not fight for the promotion again, and he did adhere to the pathetic, bordering on unethical guidelines based off the Texas Athletic commission...

plus the dana issue was based around the media, which has nothing to do with what you brought up about Coker..

So even at worst...dana is scumbag, and coker can be a scumbag lite?

Isn't this the UFC discussion board?

I mentioned bellator in the RIP thread. Everyone is still in the grieving and paying respects phase. Plus a lot of casuals and people who don't follow bellator don't know the story But once people start looking for answers, Coker and Bellator will be in some shit. People will wonder why he was booked to fight(out of the country where testing is lax) so soon right after getting popped his last fight

Who's saying they're not? Yet Coker gets a pass for both men in his co-main dying of heart failure.

Meh, I don't think people give him a pass. It's just that...only a small percentage of posters here even care about Bellator. So you automatically hear less.
I haven't seen Kimbo vs Dada, because I heard about the fight and no thanks, I'll pass. But a lot of other people wanted so see Dada vs Kimbo. Bellator is just giving the fans what they want to see, no matter how pathetic it might be, supply and demand.

Is it Coker's mistake? Maybe, but who knows what viacom is doing in the background? Don't forget the athletic commission in Texas, they fucked up the most and as far as I know there are no repercussions for them at all.

I don't think we're informed enough to call Coker a scumbag and call for his scalp. But it's ofc worrying that Kimbo died because of a heart failure while he was scheduled to fight.

I get the arguing that Dada 5000 heart attack is something that Bellator was responsible for. But I'm not understanding how they're responsible for Kimbos heart attack several months after he fought.

Is the argument that they kept him employed even though he tested positive for Peds? UFC does that all the time. Of course Bellator has a no PEDS expectation, so if someone uses them, that is on that fighter.

A man is responsible for his own life decisions. Not Bellator.

Why would anyone point the finger at Coker, Dana or any promoter? All they do is have the fighters sign on the dotted line and promote the fight. If anyone should be looked at it should be the athletic commissions and the doctors that give the thumbs up to license these fighters after they have been given a medical exam. How did Dada and Kimbo pass these medical exams if they were both suffering from heart issues?

"Continuing to book a fighter after their AC suspension is up" is a stupid 'accusation'. Everybody resumes booking fighters after their suspension is up, unless they're a nobody or have failed multiple times.

The heart problems of two fighters, otoh, is a very, very serious issue. However, you have no idea how this happened. Were the physicals typical? Lax? Circumvented by the fighters? A shady doctor? The Commission? Someone in Bellator? Nonetheless, you're comfortable pretending you know and throwing out irresponsible accusations.

It's no surprise you've been carded already.

Yes but when Coker actively seeks out commissions that are lax so he can put on freak shows, that is a little shady. I think people need to realise that MMA training is taxing and some people just aren't cut out for it anymore at a certain age or fitness level. Obviously Dada and Kimbo could have been more thoroughly screened. I don't think it's a coincidence that two guys that had no business fighting in a main event pushed themselves to the brink and both had heart attacks within 2 months of that fight.

Oh please, there's a reason they took the fight to Texas.
