Pre orders start February 28th and should take about 3 months to receive.

Looks like a dope gi but I can't justify the 335.00 usd price tag for it. I suppose if I could sell my old
Mizuno judo gi's maybe I would buy it.

I was actually really thinking of getting it until I saw the price tag.

Anybody here ordering one???

Just ordered two because I'm a millionaire

Is there any performance enhancements that justify the cost or is it strictly because it's going to be a collectors item of sort?

Nice gi but $335, ouch!

I'm thinking about it. I really like the Athlete but it's too snug in the shoulde ts for me. If this gi is as stated of having a slightly looser fit, then I am even mote interested
Throw in the fact of the quality of the material and craftsmanship that will go into the gi...I can see why it has the $335 price tag.

300+ bucks plus a three month waiting period?

Guess people have time AND money to burn.

This shit better be made out of used schoolgirl panties if it costs $335 and you have to wait 3 months for it.

Im passing on it. As dope as it is, 300 dollars just dosent makes sense and I already ave a pretty good selection of Gi's.

Im trying to break the dark cycle of going after ever new cool gi that comes along.

It is a dope gi though, but I feel like I would be scared to use it. My buddy paid top dollar for an old Mizuno Rickson Gi and he wont use it....even though he paid like 400 dollars for it and it fits him well.

Here's a brief interview that I did with Matt from Scramble about the gi: http://gireviews.net/scramble-hand-made-in-japan-gi-preview/

I asked him about why he wanted to do a project like this, how long it took, the fit, and some of the cool extras that come with a special version of the gi. I think it's really rad and will likely pick one up as I've never owned a Japan-made gi before.

I do know that on some Gi's you pay what you get and i do see that everyday.

But don't know about really really high price tags if they really really worth it either.
I mean off course if you can afford it easily then why not if you want to, but for me there is a limit on how much i would be willing to give for one.

no contrast stitching?? so 2006...j/k.

good looking gi, but no way in hell i'de drop that kind of money. too many high quality gi's in the mid $100's to splurge on something like this. i'm guessing their demographic for this piece is bear from syr, and other gi-addicts that want to hang something up in a closet or place in a wall hung frame for 20 years to show off every once and a while.

Wow...That's a great looking Gi, but my pockets aren't that deep. I have a hard time justifying the $165-185 that most are going for these days. I"m ignorant to the history of this Gi, but what makes it so special that would make someone want to pay double the going rate??

Nope. I love Scramble and have had nothing but great luck with their products; but for that price tag, I just can't find it justifiable. But I'm certain they know who they're marketing to, so all is well.

I'll be all over the Rebel in a couple weeks though.

They can seriously blow me for that price. Does labor cost more in japan? Why is it so expensive? U can email Pakistan right now and have a gi made for a fraction of that price and I can bet it won't be that much different. I'm sure the gi will be nice but come one man 335?

isami makes gis in japan and they are $100 less than that and are the bomb

Great idea and concept. If you want a true quality gi then this is the way to go. Although being a perishable product, id think it would be better to invest in a couple of cheaper gis. This won't last forever like a Rolex. Then again people spend thousands on cars that will eventually stop working...just like when this gi rips.

I was very interested in purchasing the Scramble Black Label. I've always respected and appreciate the culture of Japan and how they view their work and craft. However I see that these scramble gis are at 335 USD and close to 600 USD for their collector's edition and it causes me to question how much they really cost vs. how much profit they're looking to gain.

Personally I couldn't justify that cost, especially since ISAMI, a well respected Japanese company, sells their gis at more than 100 dollars less in addition to the lack of a 3 month waiting period. I went ahead and picked up an Isami Diamond cut gi, if that gi fits well, I may pick up a Sachiko gi and try to see if I can get free shipping from them. (I've heard they have good customer service regarding this.)

tl;dr I didn't buy the black label, because I'd rather buy a "Made in Japan" gi from a Japanese company that won't make me wait 3 months.

I believe that is why the Black Label is on a LIMITED run Made to Order sale. They will not make this gi again. Whether only 1 or 10 guys purchase this pre ordered gi that is it and all that will be made. Every other company that does a pre order has a 3 month wait period. I believe it when they say they went through numerous prototypes to get exactly what they wanted in design and quality...This wasn't a cut typical cut and sew made to order batch.

I also would say, although it is an intriguing part of this purchase, then it makes it even riskier in regards to purchasing one. You're not exactly sure what you're going to get and how well it would fit you with an unlikely chance to get a refund on it. I've heard that their sizing runs a little larger than their chart indicates and an A0 isn't being made in this gi, despite it being a made to order pre-order... I am looking forward to pictures and reviews and hopefully maybe having the opportunity to see it in person.

i have the Sachiko double weave and it feels fantastic. the craftsmanship kills everything else.

My issue is what is so much better about this gi that they can charge that price? I don't care where it's made. Unless there is some ground breaking technology it's going to be the same as any other gi but probably with straighter stitching and less loose threads. I know it's a limited order or run and I like the gi. But it's not that cool. I own 5 gis from 40 dollars on up and there seriously is not that much difference between them. Either way I hope it's Awsome for anyone that buys it.
