So I have this nagging pain on my floating rib after a training partner transitioned from side to modified kesa, it's been this way for 2 weeks and the pain has not lessened. Any tips?
Both times I've popped a rib, only time healed them up. The first time hurt more but was about 3 weeks until it started feeling better. The second time it hurt less but was nagging for about 5 weeks. Just about everything I did in jiu jitsu aggregated them so a couple weeks of the mat might be your best bet.

A few years ago I pivoted the wrong way during a sparring session and subsequently received a full blown, flush roundhouse on my floating ribs, nothing broke but they were sore for a very long time. Forget weeks, I had to wait months to recover. I've heard hurt ribs take longer than broke ribs to heal - don't know how true that is but it took forever for me to recover
