Any thoughts on Brendan Schaub as a podcast guy on Fighter and the Kid?

Just wanted to hear opinions since I havent seen much written about it. If anyone knows a good thread outside of the Rogan boards please link me.

For a fighter, I think he's extremely witty and logically sound. His reasoning is pretty sharp, and I tend to agree with a lot of what he says. He tends to grab on to his own idioms and expressions and over uses them though so that makes him a bit tiresome sometimes. Honeydick, uhhh you're welcome...., I aint hating on.....100% etc etc. Right now he's all about "does that make sense?" as sentence finishers. I listen to the shows because Schaub discusses a lot of fight talk and seems well connected.

Ive been listening to the show this week and the more Callen misses shows, the less interested I become though. I don't know why that is. Im not especially a fan of Callens but he brings a unique perspective to the show and he's quite bright albeit not especially versed in anything in particular. His knowledge to anything of substance is impressive yet pretty shallow at the same time. So he comes off sounding like he knows more than he actually does about a topic. I don't want to say bullshit artist but he comes off rather insincere sometimes in his stances. I do think he's funny though and together their show is representative of their synergy...the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Oh...and Im not a particular fan of their interviews or guest thus far. They've been rough to listen to. Steve-O gave me douche chills.

I think he's fun to listen to, smart with a good sense of humor. However, I don't like how he thinks he knows the fight game better than Callen because he was a fighter. There are analysts and sports bookies who have never fought a day in their life but could pick the winner of fights more often then Brendan. Callen has arguably been more right at times during fight predictions. I think the Steve-O interview was good, don't know why he gave you douche chills. He came off decently smart and funny for all the brain trama from concussions and drugs.

Thats hilarious. Callen to me reminds of the king's kid friend in Braveheart. The one who starts giving milItary advice to the king.
 
I think he's pretty annoying. I'll never get why Ronda chose him over me. Maybe he's got a dick that's at least 5 inches?
 
I can't listen to FatK but I love seeing them with Rogan on the Fight Companions.

We're lucky to be fans of a sport with guys like Schaub who are willing to be candid as fuck about their experiences and the way the sport works. Other sports are so corporate that active guys are scared to say anything interesting.

Unfortunately he might be part of a dying breed, since he got fucked for criticizing the Reebok deal, and others will probably get the message. I don't know if there will be another active fighter like him, and as the years go by, his stories will become increasingly dated. I sort of wish he'd take one more fight.
 
He's funny. I like him for the most part. Just don't take it too serious.
 
These past 3 podcasts without Bryan have been so much better. Especially the Bas/Ranello one.
 
He is terrible, his analysis is barely above fan level. He never offers any real insight just states the obvious. Always talks about making bold predictions "in private" after the fact.

Last time I listened to FATK was when Condit and Lawler were on it, it was 7 minutes of Schaub asking one question and when he finally let one of them speak he would cut them off trying to get them to elaborate.

He also talks down to anyone he thinks he is better than and kisses the ass of everyone else. Class A douche.

TFatK had the same problem that Rogan had 3 years ago... Redban. Only TFatK idiot is Bryan, at least Redban used to run technical shit, Bryan is just worthless.

Bryan is such shit, that he makes Brendan look good, that is literally his job. To placate to whatever Brendan is saying and cower in fear and offer absolutely nothing of substance.

If Brendan learned to shut his mouth every 10 minutes, instead of loving his own voice, TFatK might actually be a good podcast.

As an example tak Bas and Renello, two guys with years of chemistry, and they barely said shit cuz Brendan was too busy stroking it to the the sound of his own squeels.

Brendan is like the annoying nerd who always raises his hand and wants to answer the teachers question, and has no shame huffing and puffing to attract attention to himself. shut your mouth retard, you don't have tell your guest a story you heard 2 podcasts ago, b/c your fucking LISTENERS already heard this shit, put your hand down and stop trying to look "cool".

JRE and Fighter & Kid are both a pile of jock meathead dogshit. Anyone who prefers these to serious podcasts like Comain Event or Heavy Hands is a cretinous goon. Schaub, Callen and Rogan couldnt form one adult brain between the three of them, "bro".
 
I just wish there was more discussion of 'dicks' and the sucking of dicks on his podcast.
