Any OG diehards not as interested as you were?

The ufc has failed to take fans and fighters petitions into account so that kinda sucks. Ufc needs to evolve and make stacked cards every month
UFC doesn't want any fighter to become big or bigger than the company.

McGregor did and they got scared shitless..

That was just example, obviously i like and watch Oliveira for years.

What's the issue with the other champs? Yan is amazing? Did you not find Volk Vs Ortega or the Figgy Vs Moreno fights good?

Can we not get into upcoming title challenger and just bleed disciple Jiri Prochazka?

I can only speak for myself, I get a little sidetracked here and there but I always make my way back. I cannot find anything else as interesting as MMA is.

Well I'd say there are plenty but to list a few - Jiri Prochazka, Ngannou, Black Beast, Izzy Adesanya, Robert Whittaker, Justin Gaethje, Paul Craig (bit of a left field one but he always brings it), Johnny Walker, Tai Tuivasa, Ion Cutelaba.

Those are great fighters to watch indeed.

Yeah, I am struggling with this right now. I’m still a hardcore, but I’m just tired of the same fights over and over, the pointless interim titles, and tired, recycled storylines. There’s still lots of great fights, and great fighters, but I can’t think of any fighter today that I’m as a big a fan of as I was for fighters of the past. It’s getting a little stale for me.

I'm actually glad for Oliveira, we watched him evolve for years and he finaly got that gold, and actually looks better than ever.

Fights you mentioned i liked but that's what im saying we get one or two fights with known fighters per card and the rest is washed.. Too many cards and too many fights.

Just watch the bigger cards and main events then. MMA is the only sport where fans complain there's too much of it.

I’m 40 ….been watching since 1995 and I love more now then ever ….( will always miss pride fc )…..could be a flying knee knockout in first fight of the prelims these days

It isn’t the lack of action. The fights themselves are the highest level they have ever been.

Maybe a new phase in life is coming my way that doesn’t have room for 10 hours forum time and, major event every Saturday 7-2:00AM. :)

I haven't watched a full main card since the Khabib Gathje event, since then I've watched a few fights if they were on early enough, haven't watched any for months. I've just lost complete interest and I just can't be bothered with the false drama and the so called stars being given easy match ups

Well im in EU, so that might be the problem, i'm not as young i once was <45>, and waking up at 4AM isn't as easy anymore, but i still do it for even slightly bigger fights.

There haven't been many matchups that have gotten me excited lately.

Too many rematches of decisive fights, some champs that are so far above that there is little reason to think they may lose.

Lack of fresh talent, poorly promoted prospects.

Not a thrilling time for me.

UFC business model of paying fighters peanuts has hurt their ability to find new talent.

Cejudo wanted to fight Yan but they wouldn't pay him so he left.

Jones wanted to fight Ngannou but they wouldn't pay him so he left.

Ngannou wants to get paid and if they don't freeze him he's trying to to leave.

This is why the LHW division has a dinosauric fossil as Champion who took the belt from a 39 year old journeyman. This is why a journeyman with 19 losses like Anthony Smith is still a top 5 title contender.

This is why the next best fight at HW is Derrick Lewis vs Tuivasa. Two guys who wouldn't he top 10 in 2005.

This is why champions like Moreno put on epic fights and sell out arenas and still make 120k a fight.

UFC knows their brand is so strong and their fans are so dumb that they can slap the Coca cola (ufc) brand on any fight and the fans will drink it up and love it.

10B company but can't muster any real talent in the bigger divisions where the REAL ATHLETES are.

UFC= U FIGHT CHEAP and they will continue to profit as the price of cards goes up while the talent goes down.
Basically all of this.

Pride was the perfect mixture of top talent, excitement and side show and they paid their talent, built them up into stars and rewarded risk takers. I go back and watch Pride FC cards regularly as well as SEG era UFC and there's a much bigger emphasis on the fighters.

Sloppy and freakshow as it was Bob Sapp vs Big Nog beats pretty much every main event I've watched since Mas vs Usman 2.

When I lived in Europe I'd stay up until 8am watching cards, now I only watch 4/5 fights per card

Living in Europe made it difficult for me to follow MMA but lately with Eagle FC, UFC tv, and the growth locally, it has been a lot easier to get back into it. Also, PPVs are much cheaper here than the States. I mean, they can’t expect Europeans to pay that much when it’s ok at 2am here.

Used to never miss an event. I think part of the reason why it's not as interesting (for me) is that fighters are becoming carbon copies of each other. It's rare you get someone unique and dynamic. Almost everyone now is purple belt + in BJJ and has decent striking so there are a lot of fighters that just end up neutralizing each other.

Too many fights and too many fighters. I think the ESPN deal really fucked it all up. Now the ufc just puts on cards to fill their obligation. No depth, no names. I still watch most of the cards, but i will pass on some which is new to me.

My interest has been slowly declining. The sport in general isn’t the same. Sick of fans complaining about fighter pay, sick of Jon Jones’s tweets and lack of fighting, sick of the untalented PVZ’s of the world, sick of MMA vs boxing, etc
