He could be charged already and there wouldn't be any news. Ireland will not release a rape suspects name unless he is convicted. And this case could conceivably take a very, very long time before it even went to trial. It took a US paper about 5 months to even leak that he was the suspect in question.

What would happen to her though if she withdrew the accusation and said "sorry I was mistaken and intoxicated".
