i'm trying to get hyped for this year...

I'm looking forward to khabibs fight vs Tony, but i think its mostly fake hype and I don't see any other intriguing fights on the horizon tbh

so i'm watching old UFC ppvs....

tons of legends that gave you the epic fight feel...

WW, MW, LHW were stacked.............

Is it because of USADA and reebok or are the fighters today just vanilla? i'm worried this year is going to suck

Different times, it’s all about the money and fighter “ safety “ these days.

Missing juice might be a factor. And of course the fear of missing out a money fight if you sport too much losses on your record.

Honestly, TJ Dillashaw. Ever since he wondered into a title fight that many thought he would lose he's been fighting the toughest dudes available, looking for GOATs wherever they are , and delivering some of the highest level MMA performances for 4 years now.

I think the UFC needs more rival promotions to build up guys into stars, all the top guys are in one promotion now so it's hard to build up star when they lose every 3rd fight.

Legends will always come through. If stipe continues his run even though some dont like him it'll go down in the books and he'll be looked at like a legend. Jones is alrdy a legend even though he's a world class fuck up. Khabib i could see being one if he dominates. Holloway, Dillashaw, and Garbrandt are all pretty legit and cody and max are pretty young.

Of course when you watch old events you watch the legends.

They're the ones you actually go back and watch.

Noones going to pick UFC 138 and watch Leben Vs Munoz, when you have the choice of so many bigger fights.

Give it 5/10 years, when some of the lesser known fighters know are more established or are/have been dominant champions and they will be seen in the same way. Apart from wmma.

Well fighters in the ufc are less likely to have bum padded records to build their hype around with, and with better communication and more media the certain mystique disappears from fighters. Many more divisions and fighters means many more names, so people can't easily pick and choose the best on a single hand, the choice becomes unmade in favor of a general acceptance of goods and bads about certain fighters.

*insert division* is a murderer's row - Joe Rogan.

"Safety" and "fighting" should never be used in the same sentence. There is nothing "safe" about fighting.

Only reason why USADA is even a thing is to protect organizations against potential lawsuits.

WW and MW are still stacked. Yeah LHW is dead and terrible, but we have more divisions now with better fighters than ever.

Mighty Mouse vs. TJ is going to be must-see TV, mark my words.
