Any good RPGs from the last five years?

I just thought of this. FF Tactics kind of describes what you're looking for to. A turn based strategy game with a lot of different classes and a great story too. Highly recommend and the remaster released just a few months ago with quality of life updates and voice acting.

triangle strategy be dope if you like SRPGs

I'm an avid RPG player though I prefer TRPG.

If you're open to playing a 1st-Person Action RPG, IMHO Cyberpunk2077 is IMHO the best game of the last five years.

If you're not open, I still would recommend you to watch this review from last year.

I played Divinity OS2 and didn't care much for it. I would have dismissed the idea of playing a new Larian game.... until I learned about the amazingly high praise for BG3.

Also the expansion 'Phantom Liberty' is awesome and definitely worth the purchase.

I picked up CP2077 this fall when it was on sale on GOG (bundled with Phantom Liberty).

Outstanding game overall.

That being said it was crashing left and right on a fairly new pc. Ended up fixing the crashes by going into localappdata folder, then Nvidia and deleting the contents of GLCache and DXCache.

Game was instantly playable after that and would only crash once every few hours instead of every 2-10 minutes. Probably more a Nvidia issue than the game itself, but throwing this out there for anyone who picks it up on PC and has issues.

I destroyed my right hands thumb so I have 12 weeks of recovery and paid leave from work.

So hit me up with some great, old school rpgs with clerics, paladins, stats, legendary weapons in the late game etc.

I've played BG 2 and 3, the Divinity games, Neverwinter Nights, COE 33 etc.

Witcher 3 isn't my taste. No hack'n slay. I want to be amazed about that new armor and +2 gloves on strenght.

Any suggestions?

And thanks in advance! ❤️
Rogue Trader is very enjoyable if you are not against WH 40K

I have been playing Graveyard Keeper. The game is a grind and can be really tedious
but for some reason it clicks. If you have tons of time to kill check it out. Fix up a Graveyard.

I played that a long time ago. Kind of like an alternate Stardew Valley, felt very similar in a lot of ways. I liked it but got distracted from it, may jump in again some day

The Rogue Trader RPG was a very fun. The play styles for each class are great.

Clair Obscur is the easy #1 answer. Yakuza Like a Dragon is my #2... absolutely hilarious turn based RPG. Probably a top 5 game for me in the last ten years of gaming. #3 would be Sea of Stars... it reminded me of the classic RPG's that I had played on the SNES.

  • I also put in 100+ hours into Triangle Strategy. The Octopath games are pretty and lengthy but I would say the story is a bit wooden and the game gets really easy if you keep the same guys in your party and not mix them around. I breezed through the game by putting 5 hours of grinding levels.
  • Star Ocean The Second Story R is a remake of the playstation Star Ocean, it was a solid B+.
  • Outer Worlds 1 was fun, #2 was meh.
  • Starfield was fun for about 30 hours, go in with the expectation that you will NOT be going to many different planets and universes. Stick with the main story line and it is fun.
  • They remastered the original Dragon Quest games.
  • The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters FF1 - FF6 have nice features that allow the game to be played faster (i.e. increased exp gain).
  • Mario RPG remastered is on the Switch. Cute but easy. Same with the Paper Mario Origami game.
  • Suikoden Remastered
The only bad RPG that I had played in the last 5 or so years was Live Alive on the Switch. That game was such a disjointed mess and boring as hell. No idea why people liked it.
