Any good RPGs from the last five years?

I destroyed my right hands thumb so I have 12 weeks of recovery and paid leave from work.

So hit me up with some great, old school rpgs with clerics, paladins, stats, legendary weapons in the late game etc.

I've played BG 2 and 3, the Divinity games, Neverwinter Nights, COE 33 etc.

Witcher 3 isn't my taste. No hack'n slay. I want to be amazed about that new armor and +2 gloves on strenght.

Any suggestions?

And thanks in advance! ❤️

Edit just saw that you included it in your original post in abbreviation form.

Check out Expedition 33. I have not played it but it's supposed to be pretty good.

Baldur's Gate 1 & Pillars of Eternity

EDIT: Sorry I didn't notice the "last 5 years" part

Maybe the pathfinder games?
I second this, especially Wrath of the Righteous (2nd PF game). They have tons of great DLC's, and you can always find it on a great sale.

Rogue Trader is really great too, same studio that made the Pathfinder titles. Being a Warhammer 40K title, it's sci-fi though.

I really like what i played of Pillars of Eternity 2, but never finished it for some reason. I hear it's trash on console though, but I'm assuming you're playing on PC?

Cyberpunk maybe?
I'm an avid RPG player though I prefer TRPG.

If you're open to playing a 1st-Person Action RPG, IMHO Cyberpunk2077 is IMHO the best game of the last five years.

If you're not open, I still would recommend you to watch this review from last year.

I played Divinity OS2 and didn't care much for it. I would have dismissed the idea of playing a new Larian game.... until I learned about the amazingly high praise for BG3.

Also the expansion 'Phantom Liberty' is awesome and definitely worth the purchase.

That looks pretty amazing.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter

Trails in the Sky is my fav JRPG series ever, and an excellent remake of the 1st game just recently released, with the 2nd game in development. So it's a good time to jump in if you haven't already

People praise Disco Elysium but it’s very text heavy and I’m not sure it even has gameplay besides dialogue choices. Elden Ring qualified since it released 5 years ago. One of the best games ever made. Has classes, awesome weapons and armor but not sure if you think that’s hack and slay

Yea, pc. I played pillars of eternity 2 ages ago and finished it.

Can’t remember a thing about it tho.

First Pathfinder is massively flawed, 2nd is better but not great.

But I guess the threshold was 'good' not great. So these check out.

Cyberpunk maybe?

I think calling it an RPG is a bit of a stretch, but it has enough mechanics to justify the label I guess.

Thx guys, I'll check all of them out!
