I am a wonderboy fan, but watching him fight Till, i wanted to put a gun to his mother's head and tell him, start attacking and getting stuck in there or i'll blow her brains out !

That seems to be the level of kicking up the backside that some fighters need

I do train recreationally so i do know it's not as easy as it sounds to just attack wtihout getting hit back. But we are talking about professionals here. If you haven't learnt the art of creating openings, you don't deserve the W

Deduct money every round that ends. If you can't finish your job, you don't get the full pay

Simple. Efficient.

Thompson is disappointing when his opponent doesn't try to take him out, because he never pushes the pace or attacks without countering. Unless he is levels above his opponent in striking.

Against Till, Thompson didn't take a single risk. He just waited for Till to attack and counter. Which he was doing pretty well, but nothing significant to hurt Till. Eventually Till started doing the same and both stopped throwing anything meaningful.

Ts sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. Liked.

Agreed.

If I wanted to watch point fighting I can watch karate tournaments. (Which I do at times)

This is what people don't understand about WB.

Unless he's levels above his opponents in skill if his opponent doesn't bring the fight to WB a WB fight is going to be boring.

The casuals are out in full force today, I see lol

In a way I agree with TS: if you're going to fight in a very passive way and not try to cement your win and REALLY win the rounds, you shouldn't be surprised if the judges see it the other way.

But I hate the "it's your fault if you leave it up to the judges" mentality, because these judges are PAID and should be doing their jobs properly.

That’s why they say never leave it up to the judges, you can see by the scoring in many media outlets not everyone see’s things the same way, unless someone is unconscious, then there is no room for opinion on the outcome.

Go out swinging, there is always a chance you are down on the score cards even when you think you are up, nothing lost by going out swinging.

There is a reason why in history fighters like leban will never be forgotten.

He was really good on the ground, but chose to bang, for the fans.

War Cat Smasher!!

I agree.

Wonderboy has no one to blame but himself really.

The judges were off about the 49-46, don't get me wrong. But he shouldn't be pissing and moaning about not getting the nod in a fight like that.

I had it a draw, on further review you could make a case for Till getting a split decision or WB getting it. The 4th being so close and all. But homefield advantage has a tendency to do that, as in, swing it in your favor when it's close.

I wouldn't have been angry if WB got the nod, I initially thought he won aswell, but everyone needs to stop bitching because Till won. It was razor close, could've gone either way.

Suck it up, move the fuck on.

Imo if he was more aggressive he jabe gotta kod or tkod

And same for till. If till was overly aggressive he woulda lost

I think some of us need to resolve their own personal demons before trying to improve MMA... Wouldn't you agree?

“you haven't learnt the art of creating openings, you don't deserve the W”
Is the same as
“If you haven’t learnt the art of beating you’re opponent, you don’t deserve the W”
This is how retarded that sound

Machida did the same thing, and became LHW champion.

If they used judging for basketball on close games would you think it's right for the team with 98 to beat the guy with 100? The team with 100 technically won but they werent aggressive enough maybe? Maybe they didnt control the courts well enough? Maybe their shot volume was to low, making the judges feel like the lazy team should not have won. Maybe they kept swishin the ball instead of earning extra points with the 360 backflip to the triple axel slam dunk.

Crazy idea but how about we just give it to they guy who actually won? Why does he have to win twice or by more than "1" so to speak?

I agree with both points you made. Love when fighters go for the finish but it just doesn’t make sense to go out of your element to get a finish.

To an extent, I agree. If you've had several close rounds, you have to go for broke at the end. That said, Thompson WASN'T surprised, he said as much in an interview afterwards. He expected till to get his hand raised. So, whatever I guess.

When machida went to a decision and won, he generally just outclassed his opponent badly. He lost every decision that was close though, except the first Shogun fight.
