He is not the only journalist writing articles about how bad Antifa is. Or writing anti-Islam stuff. Or anti-BLM stuff. I'm sure you were aware of how bad Antifa was without being aware of Andy Ngo. Which means there are other people covering them that somehow have managed to keep themselves out of the story. Andy wasn't assaulted primarily for his political views.
He was assaulted because he has been deliberately and strategically putting himself in harms way for over a year. The first time he was pushed, I said what you said. "This is bullshit. No one should be assaulted just for their political coverage." This must've been almost two years ago. Since then, he has gotten more aggressive, putting out more inflammatory material, embedding himself further into Antifa rallies. The second time he got pushed, I felt the same. Then he got silly stringed. Then he got pepper sprayed. Each time, he'd post video of it and call for donations to his Patreon then become even more aggressive and provocative. His whole business model has been building up to this exact moment.
What you mean to say is, "No one should be assaulted while launching a sustained campaign to knowingly and deliberately harass violent extremists groups with the intent to monetize their harassment." If that's your position, then we'll agree to disagree, but I want it to be clear what we're discussing.
