Watching highlights from the NY assembly vote to legalize MMA in New York got me thinking...Are people against legalizing MMA against the 1st amendment?

MMA does stand for Mixed Martial ARTS. People that would spew anti-MMA sentiments are for censoring/prohibiting an art form as far as I'm concerned.

At times in the assembly highlight, representatives bring up Mandingo fighting as a reason why MMA should not be legalized, also "Legalizing MMA is prohibiting violence for profit." So is football, hockey and boxing...Maybe the state of NY should move to banning the New York Rangers, The New York Jets and The New York Giants, if that is their concern....

You can argue semantics all day, but it isn't about political freedoms. It's not about ethical concerns or moral choices. It's about money, plain and simple. Now that Sheldon Silver has been arrested for corruption, the Culinary Workers Union is not able to keep MMA out of NY.

It's really that simple.

Some people are just squeamish when it comes to MMA. My sister damn near fainted when my brother and I were watching a rebroadcasting of Lawler vs MacDonald II. I gave a speech on MMA and had some gifs of PRIDE and the class looked at me like I was a lunatic for being a fan of it. Granted the gifs were of Wanderlei Silva stomping a mudhole on some poor soul, Rampage vs Arona slam, and when Randleman Chris Benoit'd Fedor.

Cause unfortunalty we have great and very sucessfull MMA fighters that dont portrait the Samurai code .. and b4 someone says that theyre only prize fighters or mercenaries im gonna flat out say that either they like or not , they are much more.

Some people just don't like fighting period. One time I was waiting in a shared laundry room years ago watching either tuf finale or ufn rerun, the other guy who was waiting said this is too violent. So I flipped to a wwe raw or smack down rerun, and he said this is too fake. So I asked what other kind of fighting he wanna watch like boxing or kick boxing?
