SEATTLE -- At least three people were arrested in a May Day march by anti-capitalists Thursday evening in what turned out to be a relatively peaceful protest compared to years previous in Seattle.

Violence related to unpermitted protests by anarchists has plagued May Day in Seattle over the past two years, with protesters and police officers squaring off in the streets. But this year, the march was mostly peaceful and without major incident, possibly due to a heavier police presence and rising temperatures that soared into the 80s.

Self-proclaimed anti-capitalists gathered at Seattle Central Community College around 6 p.m. and proceeded to march through the streets of Capitol Hill and downtown Seattle, joining others who had gathered at the juvenile detention center.

A lot of non-news going on lately, lets discuss some of the political crap going on at home.

I just with they weren't hooligans about it. They do not stand for anti-capitalist. They're just "anarchists" and they don't even know what that means.

Bit of anti-capitalism and anti-deportation.

I can understand the protest for workers rights and the concern over wealth distribution, but the "anti-capitalist" label is ridiculous.

I've seen other videos of more recent protests (i think it was the g20 protests) where the protesters filmed and yelled at the cops (undercover protesters) for throwing rocks and or instigating people to destroy things in wich they started panicking and moved away without answering.

Dirty desperate tactics to shutdown the protests...

Let Seattle turn socialist. I hope it works out for them but if things head south then make THEM fix it, not the rest of us. It's time people and cities start being held accountable for their voting decisions and political actions. If any of them are caught leaving their $15.00 an hour paradise then shoot them where they stand, especially the politicians.

Capitalism is awesome.

How is anybody supposed be a successful entrepreneur or business owner if there is no capitalism?

502 is keeping everyone calm this year.

I'm glad they waited until after work to start this foolishness.

Well, sometimes. Depends on what you say. Just because you're speaking freely doesn't mean you aren't saying dumb shit. The 1st amendment is value neutral.
