News Anthony Pettis got destroyed AGAIN tonight in PFL

Showtime has been washed for years.

Still my boy though. So many great memories.

Remember when Duke Roufus was considered an elite MMA coach?

Yeah. Cordeiro is probably the only elite MMA coach so far who truly stands the test of time. Been training champions and contenders since late 90s and up to this day.

You have no idea what you're talking about, bitchboy and if we were having this convo face to face I'd break your fucking neck immediately lmao. Clearly you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. I took your casual ass straight to school with facts and all you've come back with is opinions lmao!

I wouldn't stop whooping your ass until you were gone. Weak pussy.

Prime pettis was a beast, age and injury’s ruined him
Back then he had good movement and could scramble his ass off

he has none of that anymore

Damn, I was a big Pettis supporter "back in the days".

He should have gone full Khabib and retired after beating Giblert Melendez.
With 2 victories (one decision, one finish, perfect) over previous champion Bendo and that insane 4 finishes streak over
-prime Joe Lauzon (KO of the night)
-prime Cowboy Cerrone (KO of the night)
-prime Bendo (for the uber-anticipated rematch, which ended with an insane first round armbar, Submission of the night)
-prime Melendez (Performance of the night) who had defended the Strikeforce belt 7x and whose only loss in the last 5 years was a razor-thin highly controversial split decision over champion Benson Henderson, in which none of the 3 judges could agree on which rounds Bendo was supposed to have won)

He would have retired with an 18-2 record, 2 victories over Bendo who was seriously considered "new LW GOAT, move aside BJ Penn!".

Plus, one of those 2 losses was the extremely controversial loss to Bart Palasweski, that pretty much everyone either called a draw or scored for Pettis.
Sherdog and MMAJunkie, the only 2 websites who covered the WEC events had the fight for Pettis:

Anthony Pettis via split decision (30-27, 27-30, 29-28).

Realistically, Pettis would have only one loss, the Guida upset, who seems to manage to beat some really good fighters once in a while... Josh The Punk Thomson, Tatsuya Crusher Kawaijiri, Anthony Showtime Pettis, RDA, Takanori Gomi, Nate Diaz, BJ Penn, Marcus Aurélio, etc etc...

Guida was on a wild 3 elite wins streak when he beat Showtime, with RDA-Gomi-Pettis <mma4>

Sure, now Pettis record is spotty as all heck, but even then he managed to pick up some other elite wins, such as another win over Cowboy, Charles Do Bronx Oliveira, Michael Chesa, and especially that insane upset over Steven Wonderboy Thomson <DCWhoa>

So please, let's all remember Showtime for his highs, not his lows...

He could have pulled a Khabib and retired after defending his title, and there would probably be people who'd still call him LW GOAT... <JonesLaugh>
BUT HE DIDN'T!!! <{JustBleed}>

He went one to go up to WW to fight none other than Wonderboy, becoming the first guy to knock out Thompson in his entire MMA & kickboxing careers.

WAR SHOWTIME
NEVER FORGET

<{danawhoah}>

Pettis is one of the most overrated fighters ever. He also has a garbage attitude.

You look a little like that Kim lady.

Well, the Wonderboy KO was pure luck, Pettis was being dominated. The other one, is it Chiesa? Is Chiesa even top 10? WW isn't great right now when you have guys like Masvidal and Edwards stinking in the rankings, but Colby/Usman/Wonderboy are all legit elite WWs, most likely also Burns. Getting lucky in a fight or two doesn't mean anything.
Getting lucky twice via finish..... not luck.... he is and always has been a flashy guy.

Ww top fighters over the past 5 years have been literred by past prime LWs from GSP's era. It's sad.

Cerrone
Masvidal
Pettis
RDA
Chiesa

All of these guys wanted nothing to do with WW and were all there during Georges' reign.

The thing I hate most about Pettis is he's a great grappler who never even considers trying to grapple unless the opponent initiates it no matter how even, or worse, it is on the feet.

thats why

I mean the last accusation I want to make is USADA era.

But what is it with Pettis?

Mental block? Bad training? He's not exactly old.

His drop off is akin to Weidman's and 70% up there with Hendricks.
A lot of fighters get gun shy when they get older. Reflexes slow a bit and getting hit sucks. No belt to chase.

Pettis hasnt been the same since USADA.

Now maybe its just a coincidence that when USADA arrived that he started racking up losses left and right. But what a hell of coincidence that would be right?

I mean Chiesa is ranked 6..

I think there is some truth that UFC WW is not that deep, these PFL guys and the Bellator guys are likely pretty good
