Really? Seems like most people on here underate him
Didn't Koscheck tag him pretty good too?
It's pretty ridiculous too. He's supposedly still "mentally weak" because he got out grinded by Cormier of all people, and people constantly bring up fights from years past when he was in lower weight classes to discredit him in spite of the fact that he's consistently performed against LHW contenders since he came back to the UFC.
He quit against Vitor too, buddy boy. He wanted none of of the Blitz standing and quickly gassed on the ground and quit.
I didn't know Rumble fans were so touchy though. Your guy lacks heart, it's ok.
He wanted none of of the Blitz standing ..
This is what I was talking about. Not only was that fight was years ago but he was fucking dehydrated and gassed halfway through the round because of it.
Not to mention the fact that, even under those circumstances, he could have possibly gotten a finish if Miragliotta hadn't constantly stood him up and broken up the action in response to the crowd's booing. He had Vitor's eye swollen shut from the work that he did on the ground.
Honestly, if you're going to bring up Belfort, I don't know why you didn't mention Koscheck as well.
Oh and I'm not really a Rumble fan. I like watching the guy fight, and I respect the way that he was able to turn his career around. However, I don't really have an emotional investment in him.
You should probably watch that fight again. They both equally initiated stand up exchanges
On the last exchange Vitor counters a wild missing left hook from Johnson and proceeds to blitz him with a few punches and two knees one of which lands. During all this Johnson is frantically shooting for takedowns mostly getting stuffed before Vitor reverses him and chokes him. Rumble tried but wanted absolutely none of it standing. His mental weakness showed again. I don't know why his fans think he can get rid of this, it's part of who he is as a fighter. A bully who wilts after his initial flurry doesn't end it.
Rumble had success taking Vitor down earlier and thought he could do it again, but Vitor defended.
That's how a fight goes sometimes. You guys that like to look for reasons to bash guys really commit to it, lol
Wow, I just rewatched the fight and it was so much worse than I remembered. There are so many instances of Johnson getting tagged by Vitor and immediately going for a takedown, him missing getting countered and trying to TD again and again. He was petrified, at one point Vitor threw a kick and Rumble violently flinches and puts his entire arms up to cover his head LOL. He was scared and got outstruck man, it wasn't pretty.
I'm no Rumble fan but to ignore that fight should have never been sanctioned once Rumble was so sick 1 day before the fight he had to be forced to rehydrate is ridiculous and negligent by the commission.LOL would it have been humanly possible for you to fit in any more excuses for Rumble there?
Jesus. I say Rumble fanboys are touchy and to prove me wrong you make a reply like that?
Yeah protecting your dome in a fight means you're scared. Terrible strategy
If he fights Glover Teixeira, he will certainly be tested in chin department.
Raising your arms too high leaves your body open, genius. You're quite the expert.
At some point yes. But going the route of Bader is not a way. Moreover, Teixeira doesn't fear to trade shots with anyone. He fought Rampage in close range and won.
