yeah that would be a good number 1 contender fight but things have to play out first. Who wins next week? How does Caio/Imavov go and how do they look. What if Khamzat wins title and then sits out 8 months? What if Caio/Imavov sucks and DDP keeps his belt, do they give RDR the title shot next?

But yeah perfect world winner next week fights Caio/Imavov early next year like Jan/Feb and then you book Fluffy/RDR for number 1 contender spot around that time.

WHo knows though, does RDR fight behind him? Maybe Fluffy fights Izzy or Whittaker or loser of one of the upcoming fights. We'll see

Fluffy NEVER looks tired. He clearly figured out awhile back that he can weaponize his cardio a la Merab and make highly ranked professional fighters gas so badly that they'd rather be anywhere else other than locked in a cage with him.

If you're a unicorn like him or Merab, fighting this way is the only thing you should do. The pressure an opponent must feel knowing that if they don't get an early finish, they are 100% going to be far more tired as the fight goes on is crazy.

For four years straight he's beaten and dog walked his competition, he doesn't pick his opponents. Dude clearly deserves a #1 contender fight or even a title fight.

I mean Imavov is more deserving right? Hasn't lost since 2023, scrapped by with a majority decision against Roman Dolidze.

Caio you could make an argument for, funny thing is he last lost in 2021, Fluffy last lost in 2020. Caio's best wins are also an old Cannonier and Paul Craig so take that as you wish.

Izzy, recently lost a few back to back and deserves a step down and shouldn't be near a title conversation, same with Strickland, hell Strickland got a title shot with a split decision over Costa. Izzy got a shot at DDP coming off a fricken loss.

The only ones in convo to take on the winner of DDP and Khamzat right now for me are: Imavov, Caio, RDR and Fluffy. Imavov and Caio are locked up and #1 decided. So RDR and Fluffy makes sense for next after, but rank squatters and popularity will hinder the course of events. Injuries also come out of no where and can make things interesting with short notice replacements or potential vacants. MW is in a healthy place and has a nice balance of new blood coming through and solid contenders and stars. If only HW was in the same state haha

Dog walked competition? The best dude he fought was gatekeeper Brendan Allen and he barely squeaked by that fight lol. Took a lot of damage and got his back taken multiple times. Looked very beatable.

Again, this is all relative to competition, nobody’s seen him fight an actual championship caliber contender yet. We now get to see that.


Beating a gimmick like Dolidze who only fights other middle of the pack guys isn’t gonna skip him over the line of proven talent.
