Police beat Downs Syndrome kid for carrying a concealed colostomy bag

1 out of 100 nazis allegedly engaged in war crimes.

They can say they didn't see anything. They could keep watch or hold people back while something is happening. They could be given short prison sentences and paid vacations when they should get a lot of jail time.

If somebody reports misconduct do you really think all the other cops are going to side with the victim? No they'll side with their fellow officer of course.

Stupid analogy there.

I'm just saying, don't take a quote out of context to make a point; 'allegedly' was included there for a reason. Reported cases of misconduct are not all valid one way or the other until they've been investigated and the text accompanying the graph reflects that.

On one hand, I do understand your point, hesitation in a gun battle means death.

On the other hand, HAD you fired back, you'd likely have been killed and maybe a citizen would have been killed as well. Without firing back, you are recovering in a hospital and the cop is going to jail.

So...

He didn't happen to kill the guy, thank God. He just shot him six times, fled the scene while being so drunk he doesn't remember any of it and almost got shot by other police officers. Seems to me that if anyone acts this recklessly, LEO or not, they forgive their right to life. He sure didn't hang out and make sure the guy didn't die. What would a citizen be facing for doing the same thing? This is 100x worse than the TM/GZ case, but you're taking the side of the drunk cop who couldn't keep his gun holstered, instead of the guy who was shot for no good reason who is going to be facing months of rehabilitation and nerve damage etc. The cop probably took 20 years off this guys life, but no biggie. The cop will probably be done with his sentence by the time the victim is able to start to feel normal in every day life.

Whoa, slow down there cowboy. I think you're misunderstanding my point.

I never said the cop didn't deserve to get shot for what he did; I'm not saying he didn't put himself in a situation where his life could have been deservedly forfeit.

I'm saying that at the end of the story, the guy lives, the cop is going to jail and no innocent bystander got hit in the hail of bullets.

If you pulled your gun and began firing back, you could be dead along with a few people crossing the street. Or maybe the cop would just be dead, or maybe nothing, who knows. But bottom line, if a cop is shooting at me, I am dropping on the ground just like this guy did, no resistance. Firing back at a cop, justified or not, is a good way to forfeit YOUR life.

I understand your point, sorry if I came off as extra aggressive. I just hate the double standards that apply to citizens when cops can fuck up like this and no one bats an eye. Like you said, a hail of bullets isn't the best idea because you could hit an innocent bystander. But the NYPD do that and it's no biggie. If a citizen does that, you're going to the booty house.

Wtf is with the NYPD? 3 drunken shootings in a week?

They have over 34,000 sworn officers I believe. With that many people in any company or organization you will have problems. It makes it worse though when your employees are authorized to carry weapons. These officers should face the consequences both from their departments and the justice system for sure.

People aren't born cops. They are drawn from society and trained and then put out on the street. Like other jobs some do it right and others do it wrong. They are humans with families and problems like everyone is, but they are held to a higher standard of conduct due to the nature of the job. Departments do have an obligation to try and weed out as many problems as possible before they spill over into the communities they serve.

NYPD has always had a bad rap, same with LA. Both are monstrous agencies with huge bureaucracies.

I've been a part of arresting other agencies officers for various things, DUI, Domestic Violence, etc. It sucks to do but sometimes it's necessary.

Also I feel like I need to up my war room posting, NHBBEAR gets all the call out threads...

I thought you were going to let shit alone? Is it Protect and serve you mention by name in many other threads?

I don't care, I am not "upset" but you are a thrice banned troll that seriously injures the quality of discussion around here. The saddest part of all of that, is that I think you are proud of that notoriety because it is the only way you will ever be relevant or mentioned.

A black Latino kid? In Florida - he obviously deserved it. They shoulda Zimmerman'd him.

"in the end he wasnt charged with anything"

Then what right did the cops even have to stop him at all? If he committed no crime why is his face beat to shit? So they stop him, beat the fuck out of him then let him go because he committed no crime? God I love the justice system.

and what's with the stupid reporting "the bruises on his face probably hurt his parents even more" -- um what? lol

After my fight it seemed the bruises on my fave hurt my GF more than they hurt me.

Yeah, but you willingly put yourself in that position? (sanctioned fight?)

The kid was beaten down by several guys with guns and he was crying for help.

I agree very different, I had fun, this kid certainly didn't.

"In the end he wasnt charged with anything." Another criminal allowed to run the streets with a colostomy bag instead of being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He's black; isn't that enough for a grand jury indictment?
