It would be interesting to see how Morikawa make a fight with a Hopkins-type guy fun and readable. I wouldn't want to watch a fight where there's always "Right hand lead - clinch - rough house tactics and playing the ref - rinse and repeat" lol

I just want to remind people how magnificent Casshern Sins is and should be a required watch for any anime fan.

You know if he created Hopkins Character to fight Takamura that could be interesting. Think about it an old over the hill vet that relies on his defense and game plans to try and take away his opponent's best traits. I think a fighter like that could bait Takamura into fighting wreck less sort of like David Eagle but even more defensive minded and more concerned with winning rounds forcing Takamura to be extremely desperate for a late finish

Maybe when Takamura fighting at Light Heavyweight? Then that would be another +1000 chapters lol. Imagine Takamura getting soundly outboxed and frustrated for 8 rounds and having to rage for a late finish would be fun.

With that thought in mind I can think of another fighter that would be perfect for the Ippo-verse: Sergio Martinez. Imagine a ring-savvy, athletic-for-his-age veteran with an unorthodox outfighting style that isn't afraid of getting into firefight vs Ippo. I could envision it going the way Sergio Martinez vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for at least half of the fight until Ippo having his obligatory late rally.

Lastly, am i the only one think that with this kind of punishment Ippo is having he's gonna have dementia and amnesia when he hits his 30?

Man Morikawa must have another 1000 chapter planned in my opinion would not be shocked to be honest with you and I don't mind as long as its still an interesting read.

I would love to see a Sergio Martinez like fighter El Marravila is one of the more entertaining, but under publicized boxers in the world and I would welcome that type of little tribute to him.

The wear and tear on Ippo is something Im curious to see how morikawa addresses as Ippo has rarely had an easy fight and his tough fights have been down right brutal, hopefully rather than Ippo he sacrifices Itagaki to brutal fight that turns him into that shit

Man a lot of people hate Itagaki isn't it? He is fine to me, tbh. Maybe it is his cockiness that rubbed people the wrong way, just like Money May or Prince Nasseem lol.

I just hope when another 1000 chapters roll around his depictions of boxing is better. Some of the shits is outright pissing me off.

I fucking hate Itagaki , that is the common sentiment for most of the regulars here its the insufferable prodigy type and it annoy s me that he gets alot of face time because people in Japan love prodigies.

It seems the time when the fights are the most gimmicky are when speedsters are involved fuck that , this ain't DBZ we don't need to see super sonic shit in a ring , I know its a manga but fuck at least be a bit grounded

Yup. It could be less DBZ and more All Rounder Meguru. Some of the terminologies Morikawa uses is pissing me off as a serious student of boxing as well. *start rant* Like the flicker jab. THERE'S NO FLICKER JAB! It is only a normal upjab throwing from the waist dammit. And there's Detroit style and Hitman style as well. No, Morikawa, that's just somebody dropping their lead hands to the waist. Until i see some shoulder rolling, calling it Detroit style is stupid. I could have a laundry list of thing Morikawa got boxing wrong, dammit *ends rant*

I get mad sometimes too but then I remind myself its a manga and its also the perspective of a Japanese man of some if what he saw from the American fighters , who knows maybe that's how the Japanese guys describe it I can't verify that though

Maybe. But he could really spend a month or two reading up more technical books about boxing.

True, and yeah sometimes it feels like he is pulling things out of his ass, like Saeki lol

Just watched he two Berserk movies.... Anyone who says they were bad adaptions can eat a dick.

I liked them as well.
I was really excited about adapting the manga into such a high quality animation project.
I was pleasantly suprised that even though Warner Brothers are the producers, they aren't toning down on nudity/graphic violence, quite the opposite actually.
However, I just don't understand when they put so much effort into this, that they wouldn't go all in in terms of not cutting in the story.
I can understand that this project is expensive, and that could be the reason why they are cutting so much out.
But they have cut too much in it imo.
For example; instead of showing Guts (or Gatts?) first few raids when he join the mercenary group, they just immediately go to "3 years after". And there are many examples like this.
They don't even show the scene where the royal officials plan the assasination on Griffith
I think they should have at least done as much of the story line as the original anime did.
But I was very impressed with the animation, voice acting and just the whole thing in general. But I would advice people to either watch the original anime first (even though it got very mediocre animation), or read the manga. Because you are simply not getting enough of the story through these movies.

I use flickers and corkscrews and Dempsey roll all the time, bruh. You're obviously doing it wrong.

If training and fighting in a textbook style of old school masters like Joe Louis or Sugar Ray Robinson is wrong then i don't want to be right lol

Itagaki pisses me off.

Honestly, with how fanatical he seems to be like he is trying to be better than Ippo in almost everything makes him seem like the one truly "evil" character.

4 50 minute OVA's

looks similar to the original which I am fine with

Who knows maybe we get lucky and he gets killed

I honestly would feel bad for his folks because I know the biggest reason he jumped almost straight to the pros is because of how strapped his family is for money.

I would not be against Takamura running into a guy like this in his next weight move up:

The two big Ukrainians are probably my favorite guys fighting right now, even though Vitali, the older one, is retired at this point and currently a serving member of the Ukraine parliament.
