If Rachael's betrayal of Baam at the end of volume 1 wasn't enough, she has now joyfully leapt across the moral event horizon. Bitch be crazy.
 
I didn't name anyone specific because it seemed like a number of people could die this chapter. so I thought it was ok without one
 
I hope the new spring anime titled "Kakumeiki Valvrave" turns out really good. Please be Code Geass quality.
 
Those other chapters of Ippo need to be scanned already getting impatient , I cant wait for this arc to be dine so that Ippo finally gets in the ring again

Edit: Google and all of the various extensions make things so much easier it's almost boring now compared to just how much work this would have been just a few years ago.

Yeah, his short story collection Wanted!. You can actually see his progression in skill across the stories. The whole with Ryuma became a HUGE deal when he appeared since it meant the the short was part of the OP canon in some way. The AV is actually from an early color walk containing early draft pictures of vikings, pirates, dragons, some yakuza(one of which looks INCREDIBLY good and shows his range very well), fractured fairy tales, and all sorts of other stuff. I'd really recommend you get them since they're very nice and have all of the color spreads, select color chapters, and a few other pictures that weren't released elsewhere like this one.:icon_twis
 
Nice research interesting to see glimpses of Oda's talent. Also never seen that other pick with the Fan service even Oda is not immune to the fan service that needs to be used in japanese manga to sell issues, though on the positive side his is pretty harmless
 
With One Piece on break this week , it makes me ansy to have to wait for the confrontation between Do Flamingo and Aokiji, something tells me that Doflamingo takes his subordinates and retreats as it wouldn't be wise to take on Aokiji , but I would love to see at least a bit of a tussle to showcase Aokiji's prowess

On a more humorous note, it's been joked (and outright stated) by the anime staff that the reason the amount of Fanservice spiked upward was because of Oda getting married and being horny for his very attractive wife (a well-known ex-Cosplay Otaku Girl) all the time, to the displeasure of fans who liked the general lack of such things in the manga early on.

This was between '01 to '04 or so and during that time he did most of the Albasta arc through early CP9 which involved Nami and Vivi in harem girl outfits and quite a few chapters in bikinis and whatnot. NOT, that there was anything wrong with that.:icon_chee

The man lives the most ideal life, ESPECIALLY for a nerd. Loves his job, is married to an attractive ex-otaku cosplay performer who used to play on of his female main characters, is well respected by his peers(I read a great interview from '09 between him and the creator of Vagabond today that I'll post a link to for those interested), is beloved by his fans, makes a lot of money, and has created something that will leave a great mark in history.


Slightly off-topic, but when you mentioned the fan service to sell it reminded me of Mashima who sort of does that with Fairy Tail, but moreso in that many of his female characters just sort of look/feel short while Oda's look/feel very tall.

Its funny that you mentioned Mashima because quite frankly that's exactly who I had in mind and you know what the way Mashima draws them feels like cheap sex appeal while Oda's version looks cartoony like jessica rabbit parodies (to me anyways). Yeah Oda is living the good life makes you wonder if he sold his soul :eek:
