This should be good. HBO usually does a good job with their documentaries. Even though I don't really watch Wrestling anymore I still find the history interesting. I also grew up with Andre the Giant being a household name.

I do however like the WWE network for it's documentaries and get a kick out of some of their older content. I watched Wrestlemania last night too and thought it was a good show. Even though I try from time to time I just can't get into their weekly programing anymore.

Damn this looks sad. He was basically a misunderstood circus freak

Thanks for the heads up. Just pvr'd it.

Man, Andre could move before the gigantism thing started destroying his body. I saw him at a live show as a kid in the 80's. He was partially behind a curtain to the dressing rooms when I went to the bathroom near it, I was in awe. All the wrestlers were huge to me back then, but Andre was massive

It was awesome. Sad story.

Vince McMahon is such a sleazy sack of shit

A gentle giant, who was very misunderstood, and loved his beer. I used to enjoy watching fake wrestling back then..because I was 10 years old.

I remember that one Royal Rumble where it took 10 wrestlers gathering up to eliminate him.

Good Times

This was pretty good. I kinda wish it went on a bit longer tho like the Joe Louis documentary.

I've heard so many apocryphal behind the scenes wrestling tales about Andre that I've been eager for something like this to come along.

It was awesome. Sad story.

It was sad that he had so much pain later on. But I was not sad for him after watching it. He had a crazy, amazing life. I bet if you could ask him now, he would not change much.

From the documentary it sounded like there were real medical options that were presented to him that at the very least could have rapidly slowed down his decay. He declined them in lieu of living the life he chose. A perfectly valid choice.

I just watched, and I really felt bad for him, I considered him my all time favorite wrestler and hate that he had so much physical and emotional pain
