One more thing to take into consideration:

It is fun to take a myriad of classes, but to be proficient at one aspect - muay thai, boxing, wrestling, bjj, etc, you should devote at least 3 times a week in just that particular art.

I believe that is why most academies do not need to have a large variety of classes. Most students do not want to train more than 3 times a week, and are happy not to spread themselves so thin.

For that reason, check out a bunch of acadamies. Unless you have a ton of time to train all disciplines, you may just eventually gravitate towards one style and just train in that one.

I've personally, gone back and forth with boxing, muay thai, wrestling, bjj, etc for many years. In the end, as I realize that I don't have the time to become a complete mma fighter, I'm satisfied spending my time training bjj.

Hey TS, does NY Jiu Jitsu have showers?

Also do you think they do month passes? I am a student who is coming back home for Winter break and I was wondering if they did a month pass :(

If they do, I'll go to NY Jiu Jitsu with you!

I'm not going to lie and say that I ready War and Peace (TS's collection of posts on this thread). My spidey senses say you should use your brain less and your balls more. Stop typing and go train.... If you're looking for an awesome BJJ spot, come check out Clockwork BJJ

I've decided to not become the Ultimate Fighting Champion and instead join a writing school (now I need to find one that teaches handwriting with pen, pencil, and typing).:icon_chee

For the record, the title of my ongoing internet novel is "Bore and Keys: The Chronicles of Lazy Internet Geek, Fight Whisperer" please give it a ready sometime and tell me what you think Hellboy31. I tried writing with my balls, but it doesn't work as well (that's what she said anyway, I guess she wasn't able to ready what I wrote).

Not lookin' for an awesome BJJ spot, just wanted input on Anderson's Martial Arts, but thanks for the suggestion.

jkidd89, NY Jiu Jitsu does have showers. I dunno about month passes. They wanted a 1 year contract. But, from what I was told, if you need to re-locate all you need to do is provide them with proof that you are moving at least 15 miles away from their gym. I'll PM you, as someone else I know is looking to join up at a place with me, unfortunately he left all the research work and looking around on my shoulders, so I am actually trying to find a place that suits us both. Nevertheless, I bet we could work out a good deal somewhere if the three of us join.

I'm gonna re-write the dictionary now on another forum.
