No, I thought it was incredibly stupid and in poor taste so please enlighten me

It may have been in poor taste, but my impression was that it was in reaction to Reem's approach to the fight, trying to use footwork to avoid engaging, which frustrated Ben, especially as he was getting tagged. So, in some way it seemed to me to say 'fuck your fancy footwork, I'm still a tougher man, I still beat you'.

I'm a fan of neither of them, BTW. But it just seemed born of Ben's frustration.

He publicly stated that it was for a different reason, one that made no sense to me, and seemed like it was just an excuse to try and avoid looking like he did something in poor taste.

You take an excessive amount of glee in watching others lose. Its disrespectful to the sport as a whole. Who do you actually champion? Haven't they ever experienced a case of defeat in a fight they should have won 9 times out of ten. Mousasi and Overeem will always be two of MMA's biggest success stories win lose or draw. I am a Mousasi fan who was extremely disappointed in his last two fights for sure, but he is still top five and one of the most dangerous fighters you do not want to step in the ring with. Machida was 7 times more aggressive in his fight with Weidman than he was Mousasi for a VERY good reason.

Redhawks do yu have any respect for these two all-time greats? Would you call Overeem a hype train to his face in training? Do you think Jon Jones did that at Jackson's Academy? Do you think Arlovski ridiculed Overeem for his loss to Bigfoot in training whenthat was his next opponent?
