That is a pretty pathetic list. He reigned during a weak era. Hendo is the only legit elite level fighter on that list.
 
Good list, it's always silly to me when people say Anderson beat few quality opponents, especially when a lot of these MWs have fought at LHW and had success.
 
He's not the goat for no reason.

Well I have him and Fedor tied for GOAT. But it's for different reasons.
 
he didnt beat anyone as good as hughes or penn. i have him #2 or #3 at goat.

Even before he got to the UFC he had already beaten Sakurai, Newton, and Horn.

Hughes is just a grappler with basically no striking. Anderson beat Maia, who is a far better version of Hughes. Hendo is also a far more skilled fighter and wrestler.
 
A solid list. People like to shit on Anderson's opponents, but fact is he was so damn good he made the rest of the division look weak by comparison. It's no coincidence that he fell off and all of a sudden the division is regarded as a shark tank. The sharks were always there, but they can't match the Kraken.
 
So Sakurai was p4p #1 when Anderson beat him? I read that he got in a severe car accident after the fight, anyone know the story behind it and how it affected his career.
