Katel Kubis is a coach from ATT and was at Anderson's corner at Cormier fight. Anderson had no time to bring in many trainers to Las Vegas in such short notice so ATT gave in Katel, whom himself is a Spider's friend from the old times, trained with Anderson under his first muay thai coach, Fabio Noguchi.

'' We were always challenging each other : who would be able to knock out faster, who would end the fight faster ... who lost the fight would pay a soda at that time. This was the prize because we would barely win a medal for each fight. Our victory , our honor , was to represent the name of Noguchi . Our life was to train . If I speak, no one believes , but we used to have 60, 70 rolls per day. That was our day to day . We train in the morning, afternoon and sometimes we were there at night . That was our living . The Noguchi formed us in the fight , so we had fun training . That was our entertainment, our communication , it was all up the fight. Talking about technical , fighting, training, fighting possibilities. It is a daily study . We were always talking and improving. ''

Thats why Anderson got emotional at the post fight press conference when he thanked Katel for being in his corner.

Wow, cool story.

It's so fucking crazy he took that fight. No training, none of his real cornermen or trainer, just said "fuck it, let's take on the champ of the next division up" on 2 days notice. That's a warrior.

I would have shit myself if Anderson won that fight. Every kick he threw and every punch DC landed I was thinking someone was going to get KTFO lol
