Anyone else think there was an ancient global civilization that dominated the planet and had the technology to efficiently cut rock? I personally think there was.

Post iron Age there is really nothing stopping the construction of a stone megalith other than time.
Still crazy respect to those who took the time to build such amazing structures.
Equally, a lot of it was probably slave or indentured labour so I guess Boo to them?

Quite the moral quandary

No, I don't think so. Like someone mentioned earlier...people back then had a lot of time, might be hard for some people today to think about not having TV and internet. In those times you weren't just going to sit around your hut all day and day dream...esp if you're a slave, which a lot of them were

Nothing you can't acomplish with a simple hammer and chisel
The amount of rock that is removed and the hardness of some of the stone makes it impossible to do without some sort of machine. There's clear evidence of uniform machine marks.

And lots of time with no social media , TV and the internet to waste it on.
Plenty of war and the struggle for food would keep people occupied. Let's not forget pandemics, the earliest recorded one was in 430 BC.

Too much rock removed and in places where there weren't that many people and slaves.

Most things in the ancient world were created with two main things: unlimited time and mass labor (at times slave labor)

Why do you think people were just sitting around doing nothing?

Also the population size of dynastic Egypt was only 1-1.5 million.

Look at the construction techniques of Babylonia it was all mud brick.

A few thousand years later the population size of ancient Greece wasn't that big either.

You're going to need some type of machine or other advanced tech.

You don't downgrade this bad unless the people with the tech were wiped out.
