God damn, that cover is nostalgic.

I think it was my first year in high-school (2003 I think)
I literally saved every penny from skipping like months of lunches and other random stuff.

Got myself around 250 bucks and ordered the bundle from Sherdog of all places back when it had a shop,

Had Pride 1-18, and the GP box sets.

I treated those things like gold, all until some fucking prick I trained with, "borrowed" then to make copies, he was supposed to get me a bunch of rare MMA stuff and I think I got a scratched copy of Terminator 3 and Bad Boys 2 (neither of which I ever watched.)

I wish I could reorder all of them now but they're probably pretty expensive nowadays.

Can't believe that was 20 years ago.

They would release a new DVD every month at Sam Goodys. I be goin in there like WHERE MY MOTHERFUCKIN PRIDE DVD

Chuck's chin was NOT questionable. There's liiterally no reason to think that,at that time. Not one person back then ever thought that.

A lot of folks have revisionist history from when Chuck's chin went south at the end of his career.

These same people would talk about how they always knew the Diaz bros had suspect chins if they started getting KO'd in the twilight of their careers.

The only people at LHW I can think of off the top of my head with a better chin is Hendo and IMO Rampage.

Wandy ironically had a weakish chin but insane recovery speed.

Shogun was actually underrated.

The fact he didn't go out from the hook from Lil Nog, baffles me.

Also forgot to mention prime Anderson circa like his Cage Rage era.




P.S. Yoshiaki Yatsu has GOAT chin.

and Yes,Chuck over relied on his chin. Hands down all the time. Probably to get the underhook in case of td,but still he fought without real worry of being hit.

But all those clean shots Chuck took over the years showed us that his chin was really fucking good in his prime.

Its like he ran into a wall and fell,and then got up like it didnt even happen. When Saku dropped him,he got back up and just started hitting him in retaliation. Falling and being hurt is not the same thing sometimes. He ran into it,didnt see it,but he looked completley unaffected. Recovery when rocked,is a bit different than what happened here. It just didnt look like he was rocked.

Havent seen it in a long time,tho.

Going on memory. Common thing to happen to Wandy tho. No way to avoid that with that style.

Rampage's defense was elite level at that time. From his whole Pride stint to his time on the top in UFC. He could block punches boxing style with all sorts of tricks not that many guys in MMA would use,so it stood out. He was always weak to the Thai clinch though as we saw. He just never figured that one out.

I mean he was in one of the first few UFCs (4 and 5 I think) as an alternate (with a 90s'tastic pony tail.)

I swear that Mezger was probably the unluckiest fighter ever.

His striking was nimble and awesome for the time.

It's a shame he had that stroke when he was signed to fight Tito for the third time which was kinda outta the blue.

Also not THAT long ago, maybe a decade he ROYALLY fucked up some dude that had a knife that was beating on some chick.

I think he may have had some heart problems before that too. When he gassed in the chuck and arona fights he looked like he was going to die in the begginng of each round.
