When this is all said and done, a lot of people are going to be shocked at just how much this move costs CM. A fighter's prime is a short window and this will cost Connor a couple years minimum.

- If he gets a felony conviction he wont get licensed by the major ACs
- If he gets a felony conviction he may have trouble just getting into the US
- He injured 2 fighters and took money out of 5 fighter's pockets, not including his own guy. The fighters, the UFC, the venue, the PPV companies, the sponsors - everybody is about to sue the shit out of Connor and all that Mayweather money is about to go away.
- What Bones and Tyson did was stupid, but Connor just hit his employer and everyone his employer needs to make a living right in the pocketbook.
- Dana can't afford to show fighters he will tolerate this sort of thing. He'll risk losing control - see the next bullet point
- Dana risks returning to the "Human cockfighting" label he finally escaped if he doesn't strike hard. The last thing he needs is another US Senator on his ass and this is an election year.
- How long did it take the UFC to get sanctioned in NY? Don't think for a second some very powerful people in New York aren't screaming "I told you so!" to other very powerful people.

The shitstorm hasn't even begun.

Hi Fellow adult. Must be just around 10 of us left on Sherdog.

Well Said.

You're in the wrong place for an adult discussion.

losing his fighting window doesn't mean much with him specifically, seeing as how he didn't look like he even wanted to continue fighting.

but the civil lawsuits coming out of the collateral damage are what he didn't count on, and what's going to sink him. they're going to take a huge bite out of his ass.

This will clearly cost Conor a lot of money, but I really don't think he's gonna be looking at a long layoff.

Since this is his first U.S. offense, it's unlikely he will face a felony conviction, from what I've read. I suspect he'll do the equivalent of writing checks along with community service.

McGregor has appeared in several photos with Irish gangsters and/or their kids since the Mayweather fight.

If hanging out with organized crime won't get him punted from the UFC, nothing will.

Good post, TS.

I am still not sure what to make of this, was this all staged or is Conor a genuine nutjob?
My interim conclusion is that it's a bit of both. Dana would certainly have loved to generate some heated stand-off footage of Conor and Khabib and all the drama and attention that would have come from it. So it's not at all impossible that he facilitated this to some extent.

But the outcome of this was definitely not expected or intended by any party, there are too many variables now for this to be the case.
3 cancelled fights from injuries due fucking broken glass and one fighter participating in this circus act will without a doubt have legal and financial ramifications for Conor, and the UFC and their partners will lose a significant amount of money and their repuation as well.

Now the pressure will be on Dana to make an example of Conor but he sure as shit won't, but what are the implications of not punishing Conor?
He also can't sanction Artem without sanctioning Conor, which is the most hilarious part.

With the kind of money Conor made vs Mayweather I'm not certain he will care. He has the option of walking away from fighting and telling everyone to go F themselves, and taking Artem with him. I don't think he'll do hard time, and we'll see about the civil suits I suppose.

I'm hoping he sinks deep on this one. I'm tired of his shit, and even my friend who is a hardcore Conor fangay told me he's done with him. Any logical person will agree Conor went too far and are disgusted by his actions. Shertard is the only place I see people defending him, but that doesn't say much as most of the Conor fans here are retarded beyond belief.

Adult discussion doesn't exist here, too many stupid people who can't grasp a topic like this.

came in for the "adult responses" am dissapointed. i suppose that's a good thing though!

I remember when you had a nose-picking kid as your avatar for a couple of years. Time flies ..

It would appear he's spiralling out of control. I do wonder what the fallout will be. Will money make this go away, I'm not so sure. But the UFC has to do something, whether its a timeout, making him seek councelling, rehab, whatever it is. Something isn't right with this guy anymore

I think if you read enough of the Conor threads, you'll find that the adults far outnumber the juveniles. The adult posts just aren't as remarkable as the asinine posts made by the children.

This incident will most certainly hurt his bank account, perhaps quite considerably, but he won't go broke of course. However, I get the feeling that you exaggerate to pretty extreme extents. This is taking years away from his career? How? Do you not think that he will get licensed again? So you are saying that someone like Mike Tyson can go to prison for rape and then get licensed, but McGregor can't because he threw something that shattered a window and someone got cut (but no stitches required)? People need to chill. There is no need to speculate but if you do, at least try to avoid exaggerating.

There's absolutely zero chance he's actually convicted of a felony. Over 90% of arrests end in plea deals. They don't convict people for their first offense unless it's a class X felony or they're poor and can't afford decent legal representation. He's not only a rich, first time offender facing a light felony, he's also white.
