Random fact, my friends girlfriend went to pass some Amish people on a buggy and ran into them just like they were saying in the show. She flipped her little Ford SUV a bunch of times and got a big cut on her foot. Amish kid got his leg broken and it destroyed their buggy.

How do you run into a horse-drawn buggy? Did they swerve and cut her off?

Please lord let this show be real. Watching it now and it's going to be interesting. Lots of power plays within the community coupled with the awkward interaction between the Amish and the modern world which I find fascinating.

Does anybody have close enough experience with the Amish to know if this is accurate?

I can't wait until the inevitable showdown between Esther and Levi. He may be the head guy, but she's the archetype Lady Macbeth.

A friend who grew up with Amish neighbors said it is complete horseshit. He said they say things that Amish wouldn't say, don't act like Amish, etc. Basically he said it was fake.

But of course you already knew that all reality shows are scripted, right?

Yep, I saw that and did a quick search and this was the first review I read. No need to bother watching after that, and I'm typically a reality tv junkie that will watch all of that shit.

I have stumbled upon a New Jersey style delivery truck robbery, but instead of stealing cigarrettes and fur coats, one guyn had his arm all the way up a horse's ass.

I have seen organized pimping out of goats and a very sexy butter churn.

I also saw a gangland style beatdown, and the only reason the guy is still alive is because they needed him for a barn raising.
