Please lord let this show be real. Watching it now and it's going to be interesting. Lots of power plays within the community coupled with the awkward interaction between the Amish and the modern world which I find fascinating.

Does anybody have close enough experience with the Amish to know if this is accurate?

I can't wait until the inevitable showdown between Esther and Levi. He may be the head guy, but she's the archetype Lady Macbeth.
 
I have it recording tomorrow. Its probably gonna be fake but Ill check it out.
 
Like all things shown on TV, has been over dramatized to grab people by the Ballz. I am sure the real amish are not that bad. I guess the amish feel a need to reach out and join the real world and make some money. Living in the northeast aint cheap, even if you grow your own food. Farmers markets just dont make bank so they need another cash cow besides allowing tourists to gawk at them working.

The premise seems absurd. Probably a load of crap. Yes the Amish have squabbles and some even get arrested but come on this is ridiculous.

Show looks like bullshit, but I can see some self appointed "defenders of the faith" going to extremes to protect the faithful from the infidel (because that never happens in religion); just not to any organized operation that should even be breathed in the same sentence as the word "Mafia"

I'm Christian, I just despise zealots.
 
My ex's parents lived in Amish country.

I seen no Mafia related activity there.

That said, that show looked like the fakest bunch of bullshit I've ever seen.

And I watch that gold show where they keep going out there to argue and find 0 gold. Time and time again.

That said.........the Amish church for sure runs a tight ship. Here in Ohio some Amish were just convicted of hate crimes for retribution on dissenting members (BS charges imo).
 
Regardless of the reality aspect of it, it's well executed (ie. written, re-enacted, etc).
 
Its fake. I saw an article about how amish experts and amish ppl were laughing at the idea the amish mafia exists. They called the show a lie.
