As the title suggests

just wondering

i work in the UK and get 31

10 federal holidays plus 14 days a year vacation and 12 days a year sick leave

However my department is handed our schedule january 1st for the entire year and we work 24/7 365 so if we happen to land on a holiday, we work it. Get double pay for that day, but we cant really request holidays off if they land on scheduled days.

In America, the word holiday is not synonymous with vacation. So we get days off on holidays, like Christmas, and a certain number of vacation days a year.

I work in government, so I accrue my vacation monthly. And I get more than people in private sector jobs, so my experience isn't really indicative of everyone else.

22 days off a yr.... I work shift work and only work 15 days a month though. If I was in one of our shops that works all day work the same time would equal 33 days off.

Where I work is also 24/7/365.
If our schedule lands on a holiday we get the option to take 3x pay or take 2x pay+bank a day to save and use as extra vacation time. I usually take the double time and bank the vacation.

Previous job I got 15 paid vacation days per year, plus 14 holidays.
Just took a new job and they give 30 days plus 10 holidays. The cool thing about it is that they FRONT-load the vacation time, so I get it all the day I start.

New Years
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Xmas

6.

I work for a school district. Summer, Christmas break, Spring break. A lot.

15 days vacation, 12 sick, 10-11 holiday(depends on if it's an election year). The vacation and sick days go up with longevity, so a 20 year employee gets like 30 days vacation and 25 sick. Most people don't use it all, I've seen some guys retire and get s 40k+ lump sum payout. It's not bad

I only close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4th.

31? What the f - some of them gotta be fake

name them all

yeah, it seems my choice of wording has confused this slightly

in the UK we call them holiday days, it seems in America they are called vacation days

we have national holidays also

damn, very strange results

i get

31 'vacation' days
8 'holiday' days

and 6 months paid sickness should i need it

ii get 3 weeks vacation, 10 sick days and 11 holidays that I can take whenever since we have to work a lot of holidays we get 11 days to make them up..
