It's been 5 days and it was due at my house on the 3rd. Has anyone dealt with this before? They won't let me cancel despite the item not being shipped which makes no sense. This is the first time I've had a real hassle with Amazon. And it's shipped from Amazon, not a third party seller before anyone asks.

I actually went through this nonsense with Amazon last month.
They delay all orders intentionally unless you have a prime membership.
Nonmembers automatically get a 2 week delay before shipping.

So true.

Amazon shipments seem to take longer now since they started to heavily push Prime membership. Another annoying thing is the amazon echo, which asks if I want to sign up for amazon music every 20 minutes. No matter how many times I say no, it still asks.

I have a prime membership that I just paid $140 for. I called and found out what happened. They're listing the item as available when it's not so I have to wait for a restock.

Prime price keeps rising while the benefits keep dwindling so now they're just gonna hold your shit hostage unless you re-up with Prime. Fuck them I'm canceling mine after having been in since 2016.

If you go to the customer service chat and keep whining they will give you some free shit. Just threaten to cancel the prime membership saying it’s not worth it or something based on this inconvenience. They may offer a few months of prime for free or something like that. Guaranteed you get something out of it. I’ve done this a few times.

It has nothing to do with being a Prime member, the same shit happens with members too. If I order something and the shipper is listed as Amazon LLC, I just assume it’ll be late. I figure a lot of orders are placed for items they don’t physically have in stock where they plan to ship from.

So what did you order that the delivery guys are laughing at?

I have an item that has been delayed for over a month. After accepting the delay it says it will notify me by email when it ships. Funny thing is when I click on the product it says it’s in stock and available for next day shipping but now the price is 25 percent more than it was when I purchased it a month ago. I have a feeling they want me to cancel then reorder it an inflated price. I’m in no rush so they can go fuck themselves.

No, Amazon has been good to me. It's FedEx that I always have trouble with.

I had this happen once and they eventually let me cancel after a few more days. The message prompt changed from awaiting shipping to delayed or something like that and that's when they let the cancel go through. I re-ordered the item and it came the next day like it should have in the first place.
