I posted a similar comment before, but I love his cornermen. That's who you want backing you. Telling the truth. Not yes men.
Contrast this with Zesty Usman's cornermen hugging him between rounds, or Joshua's cornermen telling he's winning every round while on the way to a decision loss.

Yeah I loved his corner's approach. The complete opposite to... I remember McGregor's corner, when he was against Poirier both times or any fight he's ever been losing and they just are yes men; he can deny he has yes men around him all he wants but he clearly does and his ego loves it...

They say shit like 'well done Conor, brilliant, you took that punch to the jaw like a champ!'

Leon's corner is like 'WTF U DOING SON, WAKE UP!!!' thas what you need, because Leon was starting to lose self belief and give up. The last thing he needs is someone telling him how good he's doing.

Yep, for all the technical advice in the world, sometimes all a fighter needs is someone he believes in telling him he can do it.

Yeah, 100%! Good point actually, that's so true...

Even if they aren't being yes men but the fighter is despirited and wants to give up... even if they're like 'YOU GOTTA USE YA JAB!' that ain't gonna help if their spirit is broken

I mean it makes sense, have you ever seen the movie?

Leon has been an underdog his entire life, growing up poor and living in sheds, to being abused by the UFC because his style is not exciting.

Rocky is the epitome of underdog
