I think you underestimate Khabib's ability to get ahold of people. And once he does, Max is in deep shit.

I actually don't think it's a bad pick. Max is a warrior. If he gets Khabib's attention early or wobbles him, he might get him thinking too much.

That would be awesome, Max uses range and spacing as well as any UFC fighter, and if he does it successfully on Saturday night it will make for a vey competitive fight. It seems that Khabib just continues to come forward though, no matter what. If he gets lit up so be it, Khabib is more than willing to take shots to close the distance. I can't see Max doing anything to stop Khabib from coming forward.

The oddsmakers have Khabib as something like a 5-to-1 favorite; while I agree that he is the favorite, I don't agree with those odds. I think Max has a much better chance than this. It's a fight, for christ sake, anything can happen.
The last time a featherweight champion challenged a lightweight champion, it was a pretty bad night for the lightweight; point being that Max may not be grossly outmatched in terms of size. And he's won however many in a row for a good reason.
I don't think Max's chances are too bad.

Max is a great fighter, who embodies the warrior spirit. I will be happy if he makes it a competitive fight. If Max can do that, that is a win in my book. Going up a weight class, on less than a weeks notice, and holding his own against an undefeated killer, who WW's are afraid of.
