Am I the only one that thinks this Tony pull out is fishy?

*Tony has a "freak" accident on set of some media obligation.
*Max replace's him on a weeks notice.

Wasn't Max recovering from an injury?
So he's not only fight ready, but he's on weight too? Was he already training for a fight?

And what could Tony have possibly have done to cause such a devastating injury in a non training environment?

Did the Putin make a phone call to the UFC to guarantee the first Russian champ? :D:p

There something suspect going on.

I get what you're saying. I doubt it but it's a dirty sport so I wouldn't be surprised. Think about the amount of times Dana and Co have turned a blind eye to PED use to suit one of their cards.

Max stepping in after being on “sick leave” is whats tripping me out... but if it is all on the up and up then all I can say is Max will join the few, the elite, the highest ranks of the warriors that make this fight game so spectacular, win or lose.

Taking ideas from a poster in another thread, it could be that Max didnt feel confident going into that fight knowing he'd not be training for 2-3 weeks. Well, that was early feb and we're into April now. He might well be fine and back in the gym. And while the fight is a gamble, I imagine the gamble is worth the money UFC is offering, ha

Eddie Alvarez is conveniently missing after he was talking about being a replacement in case one of them at 223 pulled out for the last 2 months.

Max has a 10lb buffer so I don’t think the “not being on weight” concern holds water.

It’s probably a freak injury that has come to fruition because Ferguson is walking around like some kind of malnourished zombie as a result of starting his cut. We know that he is disciplined, but it’s still one of the biggest cuts in MMA.

The only fishy thing is that it was announced on 4/1...

I’m ignoring all the conspiracy theories for now

Given all the history and BS of course its fishy.

Tripping in a parking lot "days" ago and then 2 days ago Ferg posting vids of him dancing some awkward salsa dancing shit? Yeah, sure makes sense....

he does all that weird training so he has excuses when he pulls out

That's what baffling me too. He's offering himself up as the sacrificial lamb. That's why I had ask if Max was in camp for another fight.

He's recovering from an injury and is probably casually training. He must know he has little to no chance. I hope he's getting a big pay check.

I’ve looked into Eddie bravos brain scans

All I can say is thin end of the wedge man

wasn't max going to fight ortega, anyway?

I still cannot believe this fight is not happening, maybe this "injury" is the new marketing of the UFC

Max does not need to "be on weight".
he is fighting one WC above his, so him making LW is not the same as if he would be ready to make FW.

And he is coming off an injury. That's good news. he is healing well and the injury was not as bad as initially thought.

It sucks. Tony is the Interim Champ, and this is the third time they are trying to put this fight together...

But then again, if Khabib wins, this will only assure Tony (the interim champ) will be next, so I am not that worried.

if they wanted Khabib & tony in Russia, they could have made it already.
