Hmm where do you draw the line on abuse? I don't get sick much so when I'm leaving my company and I have a few weeks of sick leave accrued, it doesn't get paid out like my other accruals so I'll 'get sick' in the last couple weeks and use it as paid time off.

Color blindness is a racist tool now. Laws and policies are crafted without mentioning color even though they clearly disadvantage minorities, and anyone pointing this out is criticized for "making it about color". Lee Atwater said this out loud back in the eighties, and it's been the plan to this day.

"Don't say gay" was a perfect example of this. We said this was only ever going to be used against gay or trans people and we were one hundred percent right. The Republican rebuttal was always "where does it say gay" but no CIS or hetero person was ever going to be targeted by it.

I've been a manager for a very long time and there are definitely guys who are only ever sick on Mondays. You can't actually comment on that, but if someone is taking excessive sick time you can insist they use a doctor's note. Most places I've worked gave eight sick/personal days a year and people could take them whenever they wanted.

Complaining that one fifth of sick days are taken on one of the five days of the week seems pretty idiotic.

So what's your insertion here, that no one cares about racism when the laws are enforced?

I think the demand for racism is higher then the supply and you get a high of the virtue of combating this. When there are real racist things happening that deserve more attention.
