Basketball. And what I mean is, Stann had just mentioned how RDA was keeping his left hand nice and high to protect himself. Then when the punch that started everything connected, it reminded me a of a good shooter in basketball. You can play tight defense on him and get a hand in his face but sometimes he still makes the shot. That's what happened last night. RDA did everything right with his defense but Alvarez found that tiny hole in it and landed beautifully.

Edgey Alvarez looked the best he has ever looked. Boxing was tight, the power was there. Very impressed.

Yeah. It's not like RDA was reckless coming forward or didn't do what he was supposed to when he got caught. He had his guard up but he still got clipped. Eddie just hit the perfect spot, and the small gloves made just enough space for that to happen. Perhaps the only thing RDA could have done was be more prepared for that punch, but that is a hard task. He's a pressure fighter so he doesn't like moving away too much, which makes sense. Usually he absorbs the punches well, but this one just hit the perfect spot.

He even had good composure and almost survived the onslaught, but Eddie just wouldn't let up. Bad night for RDA, he was looking so good. If not for that punch, I think he would have broken Eddie down and won by TKO in the second or third.
