I like Eddie and respect the guy,

But he got lucky getting the belt I feel, he's quite limited and now that he doesn't recover as fast he can't rely on the chin.

Conor beat Dustin before Alvarez, so Dustin had longer time to improve and be inspired by a GOAT. Nice finish.

He's a top 5 fighter in an even more competitive division than before. He's not lucky, it's just gotten tougher.

Wow... that low blow drew a big reaction from Eddie

Well deserved loss for that piece of shit. First he throws multiple illegal knees in their initial encounter, then this fight he batalntly grabs the fence to defend the guillotine, followed by fence grabs to hold his position when he had poirier against the fence.

Was ecstatic when the diamond put him away for good.

I'm not actually sure it was a true low blow. It hit below the belt line, so in boxing that would definitely be low. But MMA has different rules. I think it actually avoided Eddie's nuts, slightly up and to the right.

I don't think his chin or recovery are gone at all. I think all credit goes to Dustin here. He was pouring it on, and he has real power in his strikes.

Savage beatdown executed by Poirier. He fucked Eddies face all up.

That's fair, Eddie did show toughness against Justin.

Either way, Dustin has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years.

100% low blow

I'm still in shock that Eddie went from a very good but non title challenger featherweight top a top 5 lightweight, now with wins over Pettis and Alvarez (granted I picked him to beat Alvarez both times and even Pettis since Pettis just seemed shot at the time). Who here expected him to become a top 5 lightweight and worthy title challenger in the most stacked division?

Eddie should have recieved 5 min to recover from the knee to the groin with 1:05 left in round. Blatant nut shot.

what a bad night for Goddard in this one.

there was also the fence grab by Dustin at 1:02
