Watch him lose this fight decisively then beat people in unspectacular fashion and never get a title shot again.
How a man is awarded a title shot after his last performance is beyond me.
 
You serious? Watch his other fights then tell me he's boring. He played it safe his last fight because he wanted a title shot.

Alvarez looked terrible in every fight so far

I guess you haven't watched many of his fights...
 
Alvarez is one of the most exciting fighters in the sport. The Pettis fight was lackluster but that was a TERRIBLE matchup for him and he did what he needed to do. I have so much respect for the guy and don't see how you couldn't as a fan of the sport. Comparing him to Fitch? It's like you're trying to say something really stupid on purpose, almost as if you want to get a rise out of people. Who would do that on the internet?

Irritating to see threads like this, especially about a guy like Eddie Alvarez.
 
Fitch was exciting too before he faced top flight competition.
The Alvarez yall are thinking of can't fight like that in the UFC.

Exactly this. Dude has been going to war for like 10 years. He couldn't afford another loss at this point in the UFC so he simply implemented a winning gameplan against Pettis. Considering Showtime turned into Fauxtime I don't blame Alvarez at all and I like Anthony.

Fitch has never been half as exciting as an average Alvarez fight, much less some of his best fights (Chandler, Kawajiri, Pitbull, Hansen, etc). Half is being generous to Fitch.

I feel pretty confident he isn't going to go out and try to just wrestle RDA. I'm expecting a battle.
