I was odd, wasn't it ?

He is usually super aggro and his reckless attitude is what gives openings to his opponents, for example his Pickett fight where he got himself into troubles early.

But tonight, what happened ?? I watched the fight twice and he just stood there and got steamrolled when 3 months ago Garbrandt was being sloppy vs Tanquinho, a BJJ guy... I know he's a good boxer but I wasnt expecting such a slaughter.

Am I the only one confused ?

Fighter always looks bad after fast KO. We will see in next fight.

No it wasn't odd. He faced the modern day Chuck Liddell. Of course he's gonna get knocked the fuck out.

You will see.

You will all see....

He looked like a deer in the headlights. he got lit up badly and was too slow to do anything about it

Big Brown is that You?

Almeida needs to work on his boxing because Cody lit his ass up.

it's called domination, he just faced a superior opponent.

It was the suit, it's too extreme to wear one on the way to a fight for practically no reason. Especially when you're not forced to. I knew he was too soft seeing this

It's like when Nate Diaz wore a $5 T-shirt on the way to fight Fancy suit Conor. These suit guys are all facade for their image, you know they can't last in a real fight

Imo there isn't much to judge. He got rocked early but seemed to recover for a moment. But Garbrandt did an excellent job and didn't let him off the hook. Great performance by Garbrandt. Tough loss for Almeida. I hope he can bounce back.

he got rocked and should have consolidated and cleared his head. instead he plowed on into a slugfest and got ko'd. can't wait for this guy to fight for the title.

The guy that pulled the trigger got it. Imo he was way to passive, Cody did a great job taking it to him. You snooze, you lose.

Almeida didn't use his forward pressure and Stann mentioned that was a key to beating Garbrandt because he doesn't fight as well on the backfoot. He didn't string combinations often enough and was too content trying to counter. So that left Garbrandt with open space and little offense to deal with in the exchanges.

I was surprised as well TS. But when you get hit hard, sometimes you don't respond as you usually do.

A good comparison can be Machida. ALmeida and Machida were undefeated, Almeida got hit and became very slow and hesitant, when Machida got hit hard by Shogun's leg kick he also became a little hesitant and didn't react well, you could see it in his face.

It's just something that happens in MMA.

“I definitely believe in myself. I believe I’m the hardest hitter in my division. I felt his energy at weigh-ins; I felt a different vibe. I knew he was a slow starter, so I knew I had to get on him,” he said. “I knew one of the shots I landed was hard and I saw it in his eye and he started bleeding, and he wouldn’t come forward on me like he does in other fights. I knew I had to jump on him early…I saw the speed difference and definitely the power difference.”

Bring in FEMA for this hype train disaster. Almeida was never anything but hyper aggressive and MMA fans don't understand that that isn't a skill.
