All Things Space

Fuck yeah I would but I'm pretty confident I couldn't physically handle it. And i'm too much of a pussy to travel through a wormhole or land on that first planet the way they did. But if I could be put to sleep then wake up when we were traveling in space fuck yes.

thats how i feel

i feel like mentally i could easily do it but id get so sick in that ship lol

Something major better happen in my lifetime. It's all I want. I want a manned mission outside of the solar system, official contact with intelligent life, manned mission to something other than Mars, some amazing space travel technology, etc. Although us landing on Mars soon will be pretty bad ass.

So far the greatest thing that's ever happened to me is seeing multiple craft flying around in space one night.

I'm with you on this man, that would be amazing.

I dream about this shit sometimes.

I could deal with spaceflight. What an adventure!! It's the escaping Earth's gravity part that I would have a hard time with. I would probably have to be sedated or else I would totally freak out.

Now that is the most interesting picture of space I've ever seen!

EDIT: Different images yield different results. It looks as though it is L.E.S.S. populated not completely depopulated as I thought.

yeah, kind of late since that picture was posted a year ago, but that's not an image of the Bootes Void. it's still a really cool image, but it's of Barnard 68, a molecular cloud.

What's the point of highlighting those two things then providing me with a link to an article I've just mentioned?

You asked if anyone saw it, it was my way of saying "yes".

Added to that, I chose to link it so that others, who hadn't heard the story, can read it and become familiar with what you were talking about.

The Voyager spacecraft were launched in 1977 and are just leaving the solar system now and there is even some debate about that as they are not outside the orbits of some long period comets.

The Viking probes landed on Mars in the late 70s.

If you're thinking about a manned landing on Mars, it would be rather foolish at the present time. Many un-manned missions could be sent to several areas of the planet for what it would cost to send one manned mission. Humans are much more fragile and resource dependent than the rovers that have been developed.

Meh, that's only a problem when you're in the dog and pony show crafts that operate using combustion based propulsion systems to generate thrust. Primitive clunkers those things, I'll tell ya...

I wish America would go through a new "Space Race" age. Something like that would be very inspiring for the country.

Hell yeah I feel the same way. What would spark that? We should shady be doing it for alternative energy sources.

Can't afford it. Unless the Private sector becomes more of an actual player don't expect to be astounded any time soon.

The problem is that with NASA still being funded the brightest minds won't choose the Private sector, and the Government still has the final say as to what gets sent into space and from where.

We're at a crossroads at the moment and it could go either way

Oh OK just curious. True or not I love crazy stories like that. Even if that particular story is bs, we all know damn well there's are so many secrets they are keeping from us. I wish you could pay to tour area 51 then be killed. Or sent to a place you could never leave or communicate with some and you just make license plates all day. Like jail without the criminals and rape.

Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon died last week at 82.

Also. This is our newest image of Pluto. pretty spectacular.

Still no satellites seen or space junk according to NASA there should be millions of pieces of space junk orbiting space. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but at the top right corner appears to be stars. According to NASA we should NOT see stars.

To add to that NASA even admitted that the images of Earth are composites. The video is time stamped.
