It strikes me that this thread is publicity for Dolce now because a certain percentage of people like him, and defend him. The real issue is what is the best nutritional advice out there? There are lots of choices out there. The knock of "bro science" seems to be legitimate. If Dolce does not have academic credentials then at best he is just a guy who figured it out based on his own experience. Lots of celebrities write books simply because they are celebrities. Be a good marketer and you can be a food and nutrition guru just like Suzanne Sommers. But if I am a professional athlete I am going to see a real nutritionist, preferably one with understanding of athletic performance. I have heard reports of Dolce charging $1,000 a day. As a marketer this is a great accomplishment. It still begs the question of whether his services equal or exceed the capability of those with graduate degrees who study food science. Let's make this more specific. How does Dolce compare with a Dr. Michael Colgan, or say a Robb Wolf with the Paleo diet?
