He seemed to be pushing for more strict testing toward the end and as soon as they adopt strict testing he retires at an early age, wtf? While he was active was he ever subject to the tests people are taking on today or was it the lax tests of the old guard? Not a bashing thread, I actually enjoy GSP but this just seems weird.

GSP IMO, retired "partially" out of frustration, due to a majority of his opponents juicing.

I also think GSP was exhausted. He wanted to spend some of the $ he earned. USADA is the only reason GSP is considering fighting again.

This. He had a poor showing against Hendricks to be sure(whom has had VERY poor showings since the new testing methods have been placed) although he still won. So why not retire on a win and move on to other things?
