If he doesn't defend by September I bet Dana creates an interim belt or just strips him all together.

Meanwhile Jones and Stipe can sit on their asses for 2 and half years and be given title shots right out of the gate.

I really think Dana is in the right on this one, Aljo already said he had verbally agreed to the fight and date with the UFC before the official announcement. UFC need to pencil things in and promote these fights in advance to sell tickets . Aljo could have also called them instead of going to social media and undermining what they just announced.

So what was he supposed to do after the UFC went public and booked the fight? It's not like asking nicely goes well since the UFC already ignored his request to get medically cleared first.

My solution would always be to let that the management work out with UFC in private. He gives the pointers and then relaxes.
