So in his post fight speach, he stated he has a titleshot guaranteed by the UFC.
WIll this happen or will the UFC boost Cain again?
 
Cain has a fight he needs to win first
 
at the current rate he's shrinking, he may be dropping back to light-heavweight soon.

He weighed in 1 lb heavier for this fight than for his last fight against JDS.

Safe to say his body weight is currently stable at around 245.
 
If Cain destroys ( and I mean destroys) Browne it could throw a wrench into who gets a title shot. Personally I prefer the Reem.
 
Overeem is on a 4 fight win streak and deserves the title fight, will he get it?. Probably not.
 
i want overeem to get a ts because him winning the ufc hw title would be amazing
 
Cain's got to beat his training camp first.
 
How does Cain get a shot over Overeem? Even Dana knows that Overeem is way more marketable than Cain. He probably brings more latino views than Cain too.

Overeem is the most marketable HW fighter right now. It'll be great for the UFC to have him as champion. He was right on his way to a shot before getting derailed.
 
Reem is next. Cain has injury history and still has to fight Browne.

Thr people want Reem as champ.

Only because he must be eating like a madman. Look at his stomach, it's as flabby as it's ever been. He could easily shave off 10lbs of fat.

It would be utterly ridiculous if Cain leapfrogged Overeem with a win over Browne. Surely not.
 
If Cain destroys Browne without injuring himself, I guarantee the Reem will be moved into the back seat.
 
I think the shot is Reem's, even if Cain demolishes Browne like I expect him to. It seems that the UFC finally ran out of patience, evidenced by giving the shot to Stipe. The UFC clearly likes Cain and how they can make money off of him marketing to Mexican fans, but Reem is easily just as marketable (albeit to a different subset of fans) if not moreso. Assuming Cain wins, I'd like to see Reem get the title shot with Cain on the same car either against the loser of Werdum/Stipe or against Hunt.

I know there is a large contingent of Shertards that think Dana wants Cain as champ, but that is the furthest thing from the truth. When he smashed their golden boy Brock, UFC decided to make lemonade out of lemons by pushing the Mexican champion angle, but it failed miserably. Cain can barely speak Spanish so he was a terrible ambassador for both Mexican-Americans and Mexicans. He also lacks the charisma and swagger that Mexicans like in their fighters. He moved no needles for ZUFFA in their Mexican invasion plans.

Not to mention the millions they lost in delayed fights due to his constant injuries. He's been quite a headache. On the other hand, they brought Overeem over at a very high cost for the express purpose of capitalizing on his K-1, SF, and Dream dominance into a UFC champ. There's been some detours and delays along the way, but it is finally time. Might as well cash in on that investment and promote this long delayed title fight.
